Rate of Pay: $10.60 to commensurate Hours per Week: 15-20

Work Schedule: Flexible 15-20 hours per week during normal business hours, 1-3 evenings per
month, and occasional weekends for signature events.

Job Beginning/Ending Dates: Applications will be accepted until position is filled with a potential
start date of May 1st or sooner. Summer hours are not guaranteed. Regular work schedule will
resume with fall classes.

Skills: The Collegiate and Community Relations Intern will gain experience by engaging in or
assisting with many of the following activities:
Interact directly with attendees on program related inquires, contributing to the overall
positive attendee experience.
Answer high volume of calls regarding special events, including phone registrations.
Maintain registration database and prepare event attendance analysis reports including
data entry with acute attention to detail.
Support special events and site tours including event setup, teardown and logistics, and
preparing event materials.
Enhance the social media presence and website of Collegiate and Community Relations.
Write, edit, and distribute promotional materials.

Qualifications:
Must be current UI student.
Prefer major in public relations, communications, business, or marketing.
Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal communications skills to
effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. A
commitment to outstanding customer service is highly desired.
Advanced knowledge of social media tools and computer literacy, including a strong
understanding of Excel and web editing applications/programs.
Candidate must be self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively
in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity,
resourcefulness, and an ability to work under pressure are essential.
Attend evening and weekend special events.
Must be able to stand for periods of time and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
