CAUTION: If applying RTV 730 to turbine plenum flange for the first time, Tailpipe shim
thickness will need to be re-calculated.

2nd Stage Diffuser Housing Flange Turbine Plenum Flange Clean flanges as shown

Ensure 2nd Stage diffuser and Turbine Plenum Flanges are clean, dry and free from any old gasket material.

Its advised to use Isopropyl Alcohol or Acetone and a clean rag to ensure flanges are dry.

(Visually inspect the Turbine Plenum flange paying attention to the spaces between the bolt holes for any signs of warpage
caused by the bolts being torqued with gasket material missing)

Apply a thin even layer of RTV 730 to 2nd Stage Diffuser Apply a thin even layer of RTV 106 to both sides of the
Housing Flange as shown. shims or to the Tailpipe Flange and in between Shims
as shown.

NOTE: Applying excess amounts of adhesive in both locations will result in excess squeeze out which could impact APU
performance.

Apply zinc-chromate primer to the shanks of the long bolts as Install the short bolt (-9) or use thicker washer in this single
shown. location in order to prevent damage to 2nd Stage Diffuser Housing.
