Strengths:
1,1a I created a rationale to explain my song choices and to explain about my act.
1.1b I found out that because I had experience previously as a singer I could use
this to my advantages by knowing skills I had already learned previously. It helped
me to improve. I used my previous experiences to identify myself as what type of
singer was I, also researching different music genres.
1.1c- To prepare for my vocal performance I sung my song over a period of time to
make sure I new it and would have no problems while I was singing it, I practised
small sections of the song, I did vocal warm ups before every practise so I did not
damage my vocal chords. I warmed up by singing warm up songs that stretched my
voice, which was helpful to articulate my words more clearly during singing.
1.2b To record my performance I used the equipment that was already in the
recording a studio. I used a backing track, I added that on to my voice while I was
singing.
1.2c I wrote a suitable health and safety checklist that listed the dangers and way
you could prevent them.
1.2d There was a little bit of pressure in preforming in the recording studio because
setting up the recording studio was a little hard because you didnt know whether
you could hear yourself, Also you had your peers around and people wanted to use
the studio at the same time as you.
1.2e The use of equipment that each musician needed was fine because everything
that we needed was already here.
1.1f The communication with the technical staff was good because if we needed
something they were there to help us.
1.3 I preformed my songs in the two-hour time frame that was given in the recording
studio.
Difficulties Encountered:
1.1a When I was creating my rationale I didnt come across main issues the only
issue I did encounter was choosing my songs, because I found some songs I
choose did not suit my vocal range. I changed my song choices to suit my voice.
1.1b I did not find any problems or issues with this particular task.
1.1c While I was preparing for my performance I did not come across any major
problems that affected me.
How I overcame these: I overcame my problems by thinking about how they could
be solved logically and then solving them to my best knowledge.
1.2a The problems I encountered while being in the recording studio was mainly
not knowing how to set up the recording studio properly, on my first attempt to do
my vocal performance I did not turn the big microphone on so my recordings
sounded quite, I realised I had to turn the microphone on to make my performance
better and I recorded my song again.
1.2b I did not find any major problems when I was recording, just the fact I did not
have the proper microphone on.
1.2d The issue I had preforming in the studio was not knowing if I recorded it
properly or you could hear my voice above the backtracking, it soon was helped by
me looking over my recording and discovered what needed to be done.
1.1b keep referring back to personal experiences that I have had and that will help
me in the future.
1.1c I think to develop further while practising, practise more challenging songs that
will stretch my vocal chords.
1.2a learning how to properly set up a recording studio would improve my
performance so it would take me less time to do it.
1.2d Make sure that everything is switched on in the recording studio so the
recording would not mess up.
