Art History Assessment

1) The influencing artist of my artwork is Billy Apple. Their work was inspiring because it was a
simple item that was detailed. The title of the artwork is Red Apple and it was created in 1996.
The medium used to make the work is colored pencil.

2) The similarities between Red Apple and my artwork are the medium and the subject matter.
My artwork was inspired by Red Apple, the subject matters of both were fruits. The fruit I drew
was a pear whereas Red Apple contained an apple (obviously). The medium used in both was
colored pencil. The difference between the two is the shading on the object.

3) I think that the artist would not have liked my work. My work was less detailed and not
shaded as much, which takes away a little from the simplicity yet detail of his original work.
However, I think he would have liked the subject matter I chose, since it is close to his.
