EBB AND FLOW
BRANDING, EDITORIAL, DIGITAL

THE BRIEF:

60% of the people who visit the British Channel Islands are aged 65
and over. In order to help the islands reach out to a wider market,
create a brand or experience that will encourage younger people
to engage and visit the Channel Islands. The outcome needs to
appeal to 18-35 year old who are keen to travel but might not
see the Channel Islands as go to destination.

THE SOLUTION:

Ebb and Flow are a health retreat brand offering four different
retreats tailored to each of the different Channel Islands. With
the 18-35 year old market spending so much time on social
media our Ebb & Flow retreats offer you the chance to escape
the everyday and digitally detox. The brand colour palette takes
inspiration form the island landscapes fresh, clean tones take
precedence. The brand copy is playful and aimed at the health
conscious individual.

WORK ON SHOW
EXHIBITION, DIGITAL, GRAPHIC DESIGN

THE BRIEF:

Create a concept and design a campaign for the 2017 Graphic

Design degree show and related events: D&AD New Blood, New
Designers and even an Industry Preview portfolio evening.

THE SOLUTION:

In previous years all of the shows had a theme. With more students
work to showcase this year than ever and a small space to showcase
everyones work we decided to create an identity for the show
that just celebrates our work- no distractions. Work on Show is
the title of the exhibition with the aesthetic taking inspiration
from the peg board in which the work would be showcased on.
The colour scheme is minimal to complement the work and not
overpower it. The copy simply celebrates who we are as designers
and all thats good about our work.

THE CLIENT:

A work in progress project working with Sam Falherty Creative.

New Zealand based Yoga instructor Summer Faulkner has asked
us develop and create a yoga class brand that stands out and
reflects the health benefits of taking up yoga.

THE SOLUTION:

Summer needed an identity to set her classes apart from other yoga
teachers. We decided to focus on the human body as inspiration
and the way yoga can be used ton tone the body. We decided
on the name Form to reflect this concept, using close cropped
photography of the body along with a neutral colour pallet to
reflect the serenity felt when practicing yoga.

KNOTTED
WORK IN PROGRESS EDITORIAL

THE BRIEF:

Explore and celebrate a craft and all that could entail.

THE SOLUTION:

I decided to focus on the craft of Macram. Immerse myself

from day one by learning the craft and getting to know the small
but dedicated group of makers from across the globe. I realised
that the 1970s perception of Macram still permeated. There
was nothing that celebrated modern Macram and nothing that
brought the voices of this crafting community together. As a
result I decided to create a coffee table book entitled "Knotted"
in collaboration with photographer Erika Raxworthy. The book
aims to inspire and celebrate the truly contemporary Macram
being produced today.

WORK IN PROGRESS- TYPOGRAPHY

THE BRIEF:

Design a bespoke typeface inspired by the theme of gym classes.

Taking inspiration from gym halls, gym apparatus and the way
the human form moves when engaging in exercise.

THE SOLUTION:

Using 1950s PE and Gym Halls as Inspiration I am reworking the

1950s Futura Inspired typeface Spartan in combination with
1954 typeface Montan. Taking inspiration form the apparatus,
pommel horses, bars and rings as well as the human form. I
am currently developing a soft edged caps and numeric display
typeface. In Regular and rotated formats.

BRANDING, PACKAGING, COPYWRITING

THE BRIEF:

A D&AD New Blood Award set by Design Bridge. Create a new-

to-world, accessible, mass market beauty brand that breaks
established category codes.

THE SOLUTION:

I have developed a gender free skincare brand named As We Are-

a beauty brand that tells people they are good enough just the
way they are. As We Are aims to inspire confidence, made from
100% recycled materials and natural ingredients. The packaging
reflects two human forms intertwined, reinforcing the gender
neutral image of the brand.

THE CLIENT:

Fodder + Plonk is a health, lifestyle and nutrition focused brand

by Alana Holloway. Alana asked me to re-design and re-launch
the Fodder + Plonk website to develop a distinctive and friendly
look for the site.

THE SOLUTION:

Working closely with Alana to create a website design in which

the colour scheme and content change to reflect how the seasons
change and the different ingredients/produce that makes each
season unique.
