Letter of Reflection
Overall, my senior project (producing an EP) has made me more scholarly, skilled and
humane as an individual. Although most of the actual process was spent learning, I still
demonstrated all three of those qualities throughout, and even improved them.
I have been involved in instrumental music for seven years. But last year, I realized that I was
completely unfamiliar with the rapidly growing side of music- digital production. This was
always something that I had been interested in, but had never had an opportunity to actually do
anything with it. My senior project gave me an opportunity to begin and document the process of
actually learning and mastering something that I have realized that I have a lot of passion for.
And although I have not yet completed my EP, this senior project has shown my qualitites that
are incredibly valuable and has given me an avenue in which I can express myself more
artstically.

Playing music, let alone creating it, requires a high level of skill. With my ability to play
multiple instruments, I have already demonstrated that I am skilled. However, throughout this
project my skill has grown and I have gained skills in areas in which I had little to no experience.
Recording actual music involves more than just one person, and I have shown how humane I
am throughout many respectful and productive interactions with everyone from fellow musicians
In summary, this project has shown just how skilled, scholarly, and humane I am in just one
