Well, I figure I should write on this because I picked on the people in relation

ships and marriage to help them live a holy a life; now time to pick at the sing
le person's conscience. Through the intercession of the soon to be saint in Sept
ember; John Cardinal Henry Newman; may God grant him to help me write on this.

What does the world say to the single man or woman? Go have sex, mess around as
much as you want; when you want and where you want; do whatever you want. That s
ound about right? I think so. Been there and done that. Trust me it's hard mount
ain to climb; to live a life of holiness; you do get stuck in un-climbable posit
ions on the side of this mountain. Just like when you climb a mountain for real;
you must make sure you have a way up and down; and have good hand grips and foo
t grips.

To be single; is not how the world wants you to be. To do what you want, where y
ou want, how much you want; is breaking Free Will. There is that word Free Will.
What the world wants; is what you believe is Free will; but Free will is what I
ought to do for God; what I ought to do for God which is pleasing to Him. That
is Free Will. Yes, we stumble and loose our grip while climbing this mountain; g
uess what; we have a safety harness too; which catches us and we start all over
again. Just like when we sin; we fall to the bottom and have to re-climb to get
back where we were; which could take a while.

Moses climbed a mountain to be with God; in the movie Greatest Story Ever Told;
it showed Jesus climbing a mountain and that is where he was tested by the devil
. A young man from Italy; who is a blessed in the Church; loved climbing and he
loved his faith and when he climbed; he felt close to God. He had fun, dressed w
ell; but always gave and always climbed mountains; spiritually and physically.

Being single in the world; is like climbing Mount Everest; we might die before w
e get to the top; but if we get to the top and live to tell about it; we can sha
re our ups and downs on the path of holiness; to show that it is possible to liv
e in the world, live and be single in the world. Oh, we have so many great singl
e saints and blessed to follow.

We are tempted with everything from drugs, sex, contraception, etc. How can we r
emain pure; even if we didn't start out pure? Well, find yourself a good priest;
be a thorn in his side to make sure he allows confession on a daily basis. Use
the Sacraments to grow in holiness. Pray, read Scripture, Read books by Pope Ben
edict XVI and by the saints. Most of all, have the Eucharist and Confession cent
er of your life.

Do not forget; God's mercy is never ending and is like a safety line during Rock
Climbing or Mountain Climbing; it will catch you and give you a second chance a
nd another chance. God bless.
