SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

Several steps are required to completely install ICS Telecom on the hard drive according to the Windows
platform used (Windows 95 or Windows NT):
Step 1-installing the ICS Telecom software
Step 2-installing the ODBC driver
Step 3-installing the 3D Driver that will allow for 3D Viewing of the cartographic files

ICS Telecom may be launched only after these three steps.

1. INSTALLING ICS TELECOM UNDER WINDOWS 95 OR NT 4

1- Install the dongle provided with the CD-ROM on the parallel port of your PC

2- Switch on the eventual printer

3- Insert the ICS Telecom CD-Rom in the driver CD

4- The installation is launched automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions

A new modifiable directory ATDI Software has thus been created in your hard drive.

5- De-installing the program can be done via the configuration panel: Add/Remove Programs

Installation under WINDOWS NT platform

So that the dongle is recognized by your machine, the driver must be installed:

1- Install the dongle and ICS Telecom as described above

2- Launch the Run command Menu Start

3- Choose via the option Browse, the Setupx86.exe file of the Dongle_nt directory

4- The Installation software is open. Choose the option Install Sentinel Driver option in the Functions Menu

5- Follow the on-screen instructions.

2. ODBC DRIVER

1- Launch the Run command Menu Start

2- Choose via the option Browse, the Setup.exe file of repertory ODBC97 of the CD-Rom

3- Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. 3D DRIVER

ICS Telecom offers a 3D visualization for cartographic files.

The 3D driver allowing for viewing graphics is furnished on the ICS Telecom CD.

Depending on the user's operating system follow one of the following procedures to install the 3D Driver:

3.1 WINDOWS 95

1- After installing ICS Telecom (see procedure previous page), launch the Execute function from the Windows
95 Start Up menu

2- Via the Run... option (within the Execute box) highlight the CD installation file (Dxsetup.exe) which can
be found in the following directories :

3D\Directx\Dxsetup.exe

3- Launch the installation by clicking on the OK button

4/ A DirectX(tm) Setup box will appear on screen. Validate the installation by clicking (8 left button) over
the ReInstall DirectX button.:

The installation is being performed. Follow the on-screen instructions.

3.2 WINDOWS NT 4

1-After installing ICS Telecom (see procedure previous page), open NT Explorer to read the files contained
on the CD-ROM

2- Select the CD drive and open the 3D\3D_nt4 directory.

This directory contains all the files to use under the Windows NT 4 operating system and contains the readme.txt
which contains important installation information regarding the 3D Driver. The user is strongly recommended
to read this file before continuing the installation of the 3D Driver.

3- The directory also contains 14 .dll files that are to be copied into the hard drive directory of the system:
%Systemroot%\System32

Note :
Depending on the system configuration, the System32 sub-directory may be located in a different directory.
Ex : C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32.

4- Without exiting NT Explorer, run the registration process via the file:
3D\D3_nt4\D3d.reg
The installation is complete
