Materials to collect/prepare: Giant dice

Transition/warm up/introduction: I will have the children do different warm up

exercises, such as touch their toes(I will show them what to do), stretch their arms,
and do lunge stretches(I will show them) to warm up their gross motor muscles for
the activity.

Adult Procedures: (use as many steps as needed Must match the Child
Procedures)
After the transition/warm up/introduction, the adult will
1. First I will ask the children if they can count to 6.
2. Next, I will ask the children what type of movement they would like
to do.
3. Then, I will roll the dice.
4. After, we will read the number together that is on the dice.
5. Last, we will do the number of movements for the number on the
dice.

Child Procedures: (use as many steps as needed Must match the Adult
Procedures)
1. The children will count to 6.
2. The children will tell me what type of movement they would like to do.
3. The children will look to see what number the dice lands on.
4. The children will then read off to me what the number on the dice says.
5. The children will do the number of movements for the number on the dice.

Conversation to Support Learning/Talking with Children:

How do you think your leg is going to move whenever it jumps?
How is your leg going to feel whenever you jump?
How tired are you going to be after this activity?
If you jump 4 times, how are your legs going to feel?
If you skip 4 times how different will it feel as opposed to jumping?

Observations and Assessment: I will watch the children to see if they are having
any trouble with figuring the movements out. If the children do, I will show them the
movements if they are unsure, and see if the children are able to do the movements
after seeing them being done. I will take pictures of the children to document their
development and learning during the activity. I will also write notes of the different
observations that I am seeing during the activity. I will use these notes and pictures
to write up an analysis later.

Accommodations for individuals:

Scaffolding down: If the children are having trouble doing gross motor
movements, I will show them some fine motor movements they can do instead.

Scaffolding up: I can ask the children to combine gross motor movements
such as a hop and a jump.
