Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies


Beginning the Lesson

5 min. As a connection to the previous class, at the beginning teacher will as the students what
do they learn from the previous class, which will include information about the second
World War, and the year when ended. Ask them about the date, because that was
significant moment for the beginning of United Nations( 1945).
After short reviewing split the class for four people in the group, by letting them to make
their own group.

Connection between pictures

Each group of students will get three same pictures which describe problems around the
Intro. world, and their task is to find three things that connect t or describe hose photos. What
5min. they can see on this photos?
After 3 min. students will compare their answers by putting them on the board. ( On the
board you will put a circle for the name of the organization we are going to talk today,
and put some branches from it, so children can put their answers).

Ask students question after putting the answers on the board:


Do you know the name of the organization who is responsible for solving all the problems world
is struggle with? - let them guess.

- Today we are going to talk about the United Nations. Did you ever heard about this
15min. organization? (If yes, ask students what do they know about UN).
- Ask student to look at the power point map, that describes countries that belong to UN
and the year when they join this organization.

Developing the Lesson

Teacher will began the introduction and give overview about the United Nation history
(using the power point).

- This power point will include the beginning of the UN, the year, and the historical facts.

Teacher will explain the reason for existence of UN.


(Which was a solution to preventing another World War. The purpose of the UN is to
settle disagreements between nation states in a peaceful manner ). The United Nations
was established to promote global peace and security after WW II. (power point)

Teacher will explain the goals of the UN, and focus on the three major ones, which are
keeping peace around the world, protect humans rights, and eliminate poverty.

Teacher will explain the main organs of UN (which are General Assembly, the
Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council, the
International Court of Justice, and the UN Secretaria t) ,and their function.

Closing the Lesson


Quiz activity:

After the explanation teacher will give a student a paper and will ask them do answer for

the question given by himself.

If you were to write a quiz on today class, what would you ask about?- students need to
create their own question and write it down on the given paper.
After students are done with the question, ask them answer for their own question.

After collecting the papers tell them what are they going to do.
3 min. On the next class we are going to continue talk about the United Nations. However that
time we are going to focus more on the major problems, and we are going to try find a
solutions
