Purpose This manual introduces management operations in the ZTE Any-


Service UniPortal for the ZXME WAP Gateway Multi-Office Sys-
tem. Related operations include device configurations, user ac-
count management and daily operation and maintenance.
Intended This manual is intended for the engineers who perform operation

Logging In to the AnyService


UniPortal
Purpose This chapter introduces the procedure for logging in to the Any-
Service UniPortal and the necessary preparations for operations.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
The OMM server is connected to the database properly.
The ZTE AnyService UniPortal system is connected to the OMM
Server normally.
You have got the URL address of the ZTE AnyService UniPortal.
The web client has been installed with Internet Explorer 6.0 or
later.
The web client has been installed with JDK 1.5.
Context The system authenticates the user logging in to the AnyService
UniPortal. The system will determine the operations allowed for
the user according to the rights of the user.
Steps 1. Open the browser and enter the AnyService UniPortal URL into
the address bar, such as http://10.42.101.159:8080/uniportal.
The default port number is 8080, which is configurable. Press
the Enter key to open the UniPortal login page, as shown be-
low.

Note:
The URL of the UniPortal is configurable. For more information,
refer to the "Adding Office Information" procedure in ZXME
WAP Gateway Device Management User Guide.

2. On the login page, enter your username, password and verifi-


cation code (the super username/default password is super/su-
per). Click OK to go to the AnyService UniPortal main page,
as shown below. For the introduction to the main page, refer
to Introduction to the Main Page.

1 Displays the currently logged user

2 Topology tree button. Selecting this button will display the


device topology tree in Area 3, which is used to present the
platform devices. Placing the cursor on a device module will
display a menu, such as the current alarm.

3 Collapsible menu button. Selecting this button will display


all the UniPortal menu items in Area 3.

4 Displays device topology tree or collapse the menu.

5 Split bar. Clicking the arrow on the bar will hide or expand
the topology tree/collapsible menu.

6 Navigation pane, used to present UniPortal menu items.

7 Displays all the menu page tabs.

8 Homepage button. Clicking this button will go to the first


page.

9 Help button. Clicking this button will go to the Help page.

10 Modify password button. Clicking this button allows you to


change your user password, i.e., operator password.

11 Logout button. Clicking this button allows you to exit the


UniPortal system.

12 < > button. This button allows you to view menu items on
the left or right side when some opened UniPortal menu
items cannot be displayed within the window.

13 Clicking this button will close all the opened menu items.

Overview
Device parameters must be configured in the AnyService UniPortal
system so that performance statistics and alarm information can
be collected for devices of the WAP GW system. Necessary infor-
mation must be specified in the system for major WAP GW devices
to implement unified monitoring on device operations.
Device Device configurations include:
Configuration
Information 1. Area settings: Area settings are required before configuring
subordinate office settings and multi-office settings.
2. Office settings: multi-office settings and subordinate single-
office settings
3. Device configuration synchronization: Synchronize single-of-
fice device configurations to the device configuration mainte-
nance table for the multi-office system

Configuring Area Information


Purpose Perform this procedure to configure information on the area where
the WAP GW is located, including the area name and description.
You have to configure area information before you can configure
office information and device information.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
Steps 1. Select Device > Area Info to go to the page as shown below.

2. Click the Add button to go to the Add Area Info page as


shown below.

Configuring Office
Information
Purpose Configure multi-office settings and subordinate single-office set-
tings.
Office settings include the area where the office is located, product
type and the address of the ZTE AnyService UniPortal.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
Area settings have been configured.
Steps 1. Select Device > Bureau Info to go to the page as shown
below.

Synchronizing Device
Configurations
Purpose Synchronize all device configurations of a single office to the multi-
office system after configuring the single office.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
Device information have been configured for the single office.
Steps 1. Select Device > Bureau Info to go to the page as shown
below.

2. Select the office for which you want to synchronize device con-
figurations and click the button. A syn-
chronization message appears.

Note:
The device configuration synchronization overwrites all the
previous device configurations of the single office configured in
the multi-office system with the latest device configurations.

3. Click OK. An Operation successful dialog box appears. Click


Back.

Note:
After successful synchronization, you can view the device in-
formation by clicking Device > Device Info.

Overview
Functions ZTE AnyService UniPortal allows you to create accounts man-
ually through a terminal and synchronize account information
to the database and all the service processors for the single
office.
ZTE AnyService UniPortal provides the following manual
account creation functions: adding, modifying, deleting and
querying accounts and querying operation logs.
Procedures The table below lists the procedures for configuring device param-
eters.

Adding User Accounts in a


Batch
Purpose Add user account information in batch import mode to improve
efficiency. The file to be imported is a *.xls file. The format of
the file contents is as follows:

configured.

Activating User Information


Purpose After adding, modifying or deleting user account information, the
information will not take effect until it is activated in the operation
and maintenance database and all the SCPs for the subordinate
single office.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
You have performed operations on user account information.
Steps 1. Select WAP > Vivo User Access > to go to the page as
shown below.

2. Click the Updata button. An activation response message box


appears.
3. Clicking the Export button in the response message box allows
you to export the activation information.
4. Click the Back button.

Modifying User Information


Purpose Modify user account information through the ZTE AnyService Uni-
Portal.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
The user has an account created.
Steps 1. Select WAP > Vivo > Updating User Manager to go to the
page as shown below.

Deleting User Information


Purpose Delete unnecessary user account information through the ZTE
AnyService UniPortal.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
The user has an account created.
Steps 1. Select WAP > Vivo > Updating User Manager to go to the
page as shown below.

Overview
Operation This chapter introduces routine maintenance operations performed

Query CDR logs The ZTE AnyService UniPortal provides the


log query function, which allows you to query

WAP Gateway CDR Log


Query
Querying Pull Logs
Purpose You can query Pull logs of a specified number within a specified
time . You can choose user Pull types, including http browse, WAP
browse, Java download, MMS Get, MMS Post and MMS receipt.
Pull logs that you query include the IP address that the GGSN as-
signs to the terminal user, users Pull request origination time and
the SP website address that the terminal visits.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
OMM rights.
The database is connected properly.
Steps 1. Select WAP > WAP Log > Pull Log to open the page as shown
below.

2. Fill in the settings and click the Query button.


3. Clicking the Export button will export all the Pull logs that meet
the query conditions.

Note:
If the Pull logs in a query result exceed 4000 records, the Uni-
Portal will display a message to indicate the result cannot be
saved at a time and ask you to fill in the Start Log Number
and End Log Number for the logs you want to save.

4. To query the details of a Pull log, click the button in the


Detail column. The parameters of Pull log details are as shown
in the table below.

Querying Push Logs


Purpose Query Push logs for relevant services. Log information includes the
IP address and ID of the Push SP originator, users mobile phone
number, PPG address at which the Push message arrives and the
time for the Push message to return to the SP.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
operation and maintenance management rights.
The database is connected properly.
Steps 1. Select WAP > WAP Log > Push Log to go to the page as
shown below.

Querying Radius Logs


Purpose Query the Radius logs of relevant services. You can select a user
bearer network, which is the GSM or CDMA network.
A Radius log contains GGSN-assigned terminal user IP address,
GGSN-selected WAP gateway access point (APN), user terminal
network type and the specific time when the user got online/of-
fline.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
operation and maintenance management rights.
The database is connected properly.
Steps 1. Select WAP > WAP Log > Radius Log to go to the page as
shown below.

Querying Socket Logs


Purpose Query Socket logs, which contain GGSN-assigned terminal IP ad-
dress, SP URL that the user visits in Pull mode, the destination IP
address and port number that the user requested, URL response
time that the gateway received and the time for the gateway to
forward the URL to the mobile terminal.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.

Querying Socket Logs


Purpose Query Socket logs, which contain GGSN-assigned terminal IP ad-
dress, SP URL that the user visits in Pull mode, the destination IP
address and port number that the user requested, URL response
time that the gateway received and the time for the gateway to
forward the URL to the mobile terminal.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
operation and maintenance management rights.
The database is connected properly.
Context When Socket logs are written into the database, some Socket CDRs
do not contain mobile number information due to some abnormal
reasons, which cause the Socket logs to not be found in queries.
The enhanced Socket log query function allows you to query Socket
logs through the mapping relations between the mobile numbers
and IP addresses in the Radius server in-memory.
Steps 1. Select WAP > WAP Log > Socket Log Strengthen to go to
the page as shown below.

Querying Operation Logs
Purpose The system records every operation of the operators to ensure
system security. The log records allow you to know the operators
operations on the system.
In the case of a failure, you can view operation logs to know the
operations and make a recovery.

You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
rights management rights.
The database is connected properly.

Querying OMM Server Logs


Purpose OMM server logs include real-time alarm messages and error
messages for the service system. For example, link disconnection
messages, database connection failure messages and service
module alarm messages in service operations, are all recorded in
OMM server logs for query later.

MML Command Operations


Getting a Software Version
Purpose Get a module software version through a Man-Machine Language
(MML) command.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
The database is connected properly.
Steps 1. Select Device > MML Command to go to the page as shown
below.

ZXME WAP Gateway AnyService UniPortal User Guide (Multi-Office)

Monitoring Network Statuses


Purpose Monitor the running statuses of all the service nodes of the WAP
gateway in real time and view service node properties, including
the office ID, module number, device name, IP address, current
connection, current process and current alarm information of the
nodes.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal system.
You have the system administrator rights (as user super) or
device management rights.
The database is connected properly.
Steps 1. Select Device > Network Monitor to go to the page as shown
below.

Note:
To move a node to the middle of the view, move the cursor to
the node and select Set to be center from the shortcut menu.

2. Perform desired operations as follows:

Chapter 4 AnyService UniPortal Common Operations

the properties of the node.

END OF STEPS

Switching to Single-Office
Mode
Purpose You can switch the multi-office mode over to the single-office mode
after logging in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal.
Prerequisites Before you begin, ensure that:
You have logged in to the ZTE AnyService UniPortal.
Steps 1. On the UniPortal (multi-office) home page, select Centralized
maintenance > Brazilwapgw2[11Bureau ] to go to the
page as shown below.

2. Enter your username, password and the verification code, and


then click OK to go to the UniPortal (single-office) homepage,
as shown below.
