Title: Perpetual Peace: The Kantian Triangle and the United Nations 21st Century

Objectives:

General objective: To provide an analysis on Kants perpetual peace through Russett and ONeal
Kantian Triangle.

Specific objective: To find if comparisons and parallelism on Kantian Triangle and the United
Nations.

Abstract:

United Nations as one of the most specialized agency in 21 st century/contemporary era. Their
mission and work are guided by the purposes and principles. Democracy is a universally recognized ideal
and is one of the core values and principles of the United Nations. Institutions that will help them solve
global issues and of course, economic interdependence among its member states They are the one who
maintains international peace among member states who are in conflict.

With this facts our attention is drawn to the instigator of the disturbance; Kantian Triangle and
United Nations 21st century. So as long as United Nations has this three factors to be able to maintain and
achieve peace, just like in Kantians philosophical concept Perpetual Peace and Kantian Triangle. Then
the idea of state of peace is possible to establish. This thoughts became the core of our interest. Also
recently our political science subject on Modern Political theories tackled about Immanuel Kants
political thought. Kant struck us as a ; his works about Perpetual peace really awed us. Then, on the same
subject, an opportunity to further our interest on United Nations presented itself. We were asked to do a
research on any of the thinkers found on the syllabus of our POSC. Immediately we drafted a proposal to
study Kants perpetual peace and Russett and ONeal Kantian Triangle as a framework to assess how he
managed to stay in power. Thus this research was born.

Our primary objective is to provide an analysis on Kants perpetual peace through Russett and
ONeal Kantian Triangle. Second, our specific objective is to find if comparisons and parallelism on
Kantian Triangle and the United Nations.

With these in mind we hope to shed light on our key interest on United Nations parallelism on
Kantian Triangle. This research would open our minds to the possibility of using age-old thoughts of long
gone thinkers in our fast-changing world. But most importantly by knowing more intimately the core
principles of United Nations via comparison with Kantian Triangle. We hope to contribute in the
understanding (and possible containment) of the United Nations for the sake of peace among states.
