5:00 p.m. to 7:00pm at Barry
School.

familias. Ustedes van a mirar el
trabajo de arte en las paredes
de la esucela de Barry. Es la
celebracion de fin de ano.

Fathers encourage Early Literacy

Parents can help their children to read, even when they are very young.
Reading to a child from birth it the best way to make a successful reader when she stats school.
Father plays an important role on their childs early literacy development. When they understand
what is happening at each age. They can support their childs development by reading to their
child, or by encouraging other caregivers to do so.

Family Engagement in Transition
to Kindergarten
The transition to kindergarten can be a time of
great excitement and joy for everyone involved.
For children, it is an opportunity to learn new
things, master new skills, and proudly declare,
Im going to kindergarten. For families, it can
bring a sense of delight as their children reach
another milestone. For HS and other preschool
educators, it is a time to reflect on the progress
the children have made. In order for children to
feel safe and secure in their new learning
environments, they need guidance, assurance,
and as much continuity in expectations and
experiences as possible. School readiness and
school success for children who are dual
language learners are tied directly to mastery of
Start talking with your child about their new
school and the new routine of kindergarten before
the school year begins
Practice the new school routine several times
before the first day
Maintain good attendance throughout the school
year
Build strong home-and-school connections
Establish daily learning and homework routines.
Get the right amount of sleep
Maintain a balanced diet for your child and your
family.
Minimize screen time and encourage active play
Consider extracurricular activities for your child
Remember you are your childs best and first
teacher

Dear Parents,

As we approach to the end of the school year, we will focus on School Readiness for our preschoolers; who will be transitioning from the Head Start
Program to Kindergarten in the fall. We are working on the goals we set up in the Home Visit, to enhance school readiness and assist with your childs
transition to Kindergarten. The goals are base on the Home Visit.

We will continue sending home activities for you and your child to assist with this process. You will also receive information about your nearest
Kindergarten, by your Case Worker. It is important to remember when Kindergarten registration begins, so go early and register your child.

Queridos padres,

Nos estamos acercando a el final de ciclo escolar, y nos enfocaremos en la preparacion de la lectura de los preescolares quienes van a ir a Kindergarten
en el invierno. Estamos trabajando en las metas que hicimos en la visita de casa, para mejorar la lectura y asistir con su nino en la transicion para el
Kindergarten. Las metas son basadas de la visita de casa.

Estaremos enviando actividades a la casa para assitir al nino con este proceso. Usted tambien recibira inormacion acerca de las escuelas mas cercanas de
Kindergarten pr la trabajadora social. Es bien importante recordar cuando se habra la registracion, para que valla temprano y register a su hijo(a).
