Abstract
WOMENS EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Womens education in developing countries has been a topic to touch me very deep due

to it is issues and what young women have to go through just so that they can have a chance to

attain a better life. You may not know, but we are blessed and fortunate to be having what we

have today. Today, everyone gets what they want, we have technology, a home with a bed and

food, and a free education. However, in other countries they do not. In these countries, they have

many things and people that prohibit the young from having an education, and especially for

females. Females are seen as below men. They are seen as the people who have to be home and

be a housewife, but did you know women can also have a potential to make it far. Fun fact,

women's brains finish developing at age 23 compared to 25 in men. It is not about being strong

anymore because today we have machinery and robots to do that for us. Women are going

through many barriers that include financial issues and supporting family or the fact that people

do not want them to go. They have to pay for their school supplies and if you do not have the

money its difficult. They may sometimes have to help out their siblings out too because the

father and mother are too busy working so that they can not be as poor as they day before.

Women are our future, and something must be done so that they can have the chance at an

education.

WOMENS EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Imagine a life where all women around the world went to school and were given the

opportunity to learn; there will be much more opportunities for the world. It is upsetting that

many women are not provided have an education and sixty million women globally do not have

access to an education. What are the possibilities if everyone went to school? The world we live

in has many issues including global warming, water droughts, pollution, and diseases. The

community has done many efforts to solve the issues, and although they have gone successful in

some ways, we still have so much to go, and if everyone went to school, cooperated, the world

would be able to do so many revolutionary and impressive task that will help the next generation

succeed even more. People say that the world is doomed and that it is too late to fix the problems

we have caused, but it is not. Yes, we have to cope with the issues and accept that we have done

them, but it is not too late to make a cause and an effort. There are many people out there who

have done so much, we can not stop now, and if we all worked together we can end these issues.

With more women having an education, we can learn discover new things at a faster rate, they

will have a more successful future, and they will our future heroes who will help us solve our

world's problems. However, there are opposers and they say that it is impossible and too risky for

a women to go to school, and I will discuss the reasons as to why that might be.

Women would be able to do discover new things at a faster rate because they are learning with

the rest of the community. This is because it is 60 million women, and with all these women we

will be able to do many things. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has

recently discovered a new solar system with 7 new planets. They say a trip to Mars will be able

to happen in the next 10 years, but imagine the endless possibilities if there was millions of more

people who helped, they would be able to shrink that into a time of 5 years or even less. Studies

done by the US government and the UK and many other sources have all concluded that women
WOMENS EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

tend to have a larger dedication to a case and therefore would increase productivity in

companies, corporations and the workplace in general the same way they keep a household

running... This is saying women have larger dedication to things and if there was 65 million of

them who can come and help out the community we would finish things way faster. These young

women are also discovering what it is like to be going to school everyday and not just staying

home doing labor work. Yes, there might be families and financial issues but if you are dedicated

to making it far, you will make it to school and also solve the issues going on at home. I know

many of you say you can not but that is wrong, you will not be happy if you are just stuck in

your ways doing the same things the rest of your life. You have to see that there is a bright side,

that you deserve better and you will see that when you go to school. The outcome will be

glorifying and worth it. All in all, women who choose to go to school will help discover many

new things at a faster rate.

And if you discover many things at a faster rate you will also be the future leaders who

will solve the communities issues. Bill Gates stated that in a video, You may not know but we

have gone so far to solve our country's problems, poverty has decreased over 90% since the

1990s There's no reason why there should be people on the streets. According to

Debate.org, But after all, if a woman is educated, she will be able to make sure that her children

too are educated...Which would eventually lead to prosperity of the country. If all these women

went to have an education they would then teach their offspring to follow their steps and go to

school so that soon the country can thrive and many of these problems will no longer live. That is

a key to our prosperity. It is never too late to help out or to go to school. There was a story of a

man who started loosing focus on his path, he dropped out, he got married at 20, and got

divorced 1 year later. He then lost his job, soon he was suicidal at 65, he told himself that he was
WOMENS EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

no longer worth living, but little did he know that he had something in him. He decided not to

commit suicide and he went on to make chicken and sell it to his neighbors, people loved his

chicken, so he went on to make his business, which is now known as KFC worth over billions.

This is not saying to follow his steps and drop out of high school, it is saying that everyone is

worth and important in some way, no person should change the way you think and that there is a

light at the end for everyone. Women and all people who do not think they can prosper, you can,

but you have to believe in yourself. Malala Yousafzai is another example. She came from

nothing, her dad was a teacher and her family was very poor, militia did not allow any females to

go to school or else they would suffer punishment. She still chose to go, and she suffered getting

shot in the head and being in a coma. She miracally happened to survive and still chose to go to

school. She ended up winning a Nobel Peace Prize and currently lives in England. She says, Let

us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world. This

touches me at a point that makes me want to try even harder to succeed. Think of the bigger

picture, you will never know if you try, appreciate what you have, the people around you and the

friends who are there for you. You will be happy and that's what's important. Women are smart

and dedicated, they are our future.

Finally, if all women had the chance to go to school, society wouldnt be as foolish and

they would be aware of their surroundings. Dosomething.org states, 3 in 10 teen American girls

will get pregnant at least once before age 20. That's nearly 750,000 teen pregnancies every year.

Parenthood is the leading reason that teen girls drop out of school. More than 50% of teen

mothers never graduate from high school. It is sad that many people have to go through this and

this is because many of them are not educated. If there was 65 million women going to school,

they wouldnt pursue to have sexual intercourse at early ages. If they were to though, they would
WOMENS EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

be smart enough to use protection, which a lot of times is only taught at school. A smart women

wouldnt chose to get married early, they would choose to continue their education in college and

this would mean smaller families. Borgenproject.org explains that In Mali, women with

secondary education or higher have an average of three children. Counterparts with no education

have an average of seven children. It is absurd that people out there go and have seven children.

If women went to having an education women abuse would decrease. Sex trafficking would

decrease since a women would know better. Women are most vulnerable to trafficking when

they are undereducated and poor, says the United Nations Inter-Agency Project on Human

Trafficking. Through providing young girls with opportunities and fundamental skills, the $32

billion annual industry can be significantly reduced. When a women goes to school they

wouldnt need to do stupid jobs like this, they should rather go on to be a doctor, someone

important rather than a prostitute. This concludes that if all women went to school, they would be

more aware of their surroundings.

Counter Argument

Women's education may be important, but there are many opposing and say kids

shouldnt be risking that much so they can go to school. In the Half The Skies documentary, I

saw how many families suffered, how they had many financial issues. It is sad seeing that how a

big sister had to wake up at 2am to heat up the fire, so they can have functioning equipment.

There was another girl who went to work just to pay for tutoring. Social groups; Isis,

pakistanians are examples of people who threaten women who want to go have an education.

The Taliban murder of 132 schoolchildren in an attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan, in

2014; and the abduction by Boko Haram of some 200 Nigerian schoolgirls in the same year.
WOMENS EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

This may concern many parents, preventing them from having an education, saying that their life

is more important. Another factor might be that the education may not be near where many

people live. Many of those who have studied the issue believe that women and girls face

particular obstacles that keep them out of education, including violence, early pregnancy,

discrimination, and the costs of going to school. There are women who have made many

mistakes, and say that it is too late, which will convince them that they ran out of time. Finally,

there are many people who can not afford an education. Girls' primary school completion rates

are below 50% in most poor countries, according to Unesco. This makes sense, since the

families do not make much money. They try their best, but they can not find a way to succeed.

Those are reasons as to why many people might say that.

Conclusion

All in all, I hoped that you learned so much about a women's education in a developing

country. It is quite different, that where most of us are. We are fortunate, and we should be

grateful because many of those who do not, wish they were in our shoes. You learned that around

65 million women do not go to school and how they would benefit the world if they all did. They

would make smarter decisions, they would be the future helping solve the communities issues

and speeding up corporations. You also heard the opposing side of why all those 65 million

might have a reason not to go to school. Honestly, it doesnt matter, it is better risking a better

life than just staying there. If you do not have money, find a way, work but not a job that will

hurt you. If it is far, walk it, no matter the cost, when you finish school you will know that you

made the right choice. The community should make an effort so that everyone can go to school,

make a difference, Malala and others did, why cant you?

lucky to have a free education with no one preventing us to go. We should appreciate and try to

spread the word out so that everyone can have a free one.

book talks about women's education in foreign countries. It talks about how people do not have

education due to the people which prevent them, and of the financial situation, because it can

sometimes be costing money. There are people today who have overcame that issue. Malala is

one and everyone can be, you have to fight for your rights and you will see that anything can

happen. She is now with an education and this is all because she fought and never gave up.

and their education. The news writer puts Malala as an example because she was told she

couldnt have an education but she fought and now she does. She is now an advocate for girls

rights all over the world. In the article it says, over 60 million girls worldwide being denied an

education. This is sad to know who many people do not want a female to succeed. I think that

more people should know about this so that it can one day not be an issue.

Women education in Pakistan is an academic journal that talks about women's education

in a specific part of the world, Pakistan. In Pakistan, as you may have heard, has women get

prevented from having an education. Recently, there was a woman known as Malala who was

striving for an education, but had to go through so much to have one. They prevented her, they

shot her in the head, but none of this had stopped her. She kept on fighting for her rights, and she

is now a women's advocate to fight for their education. I think that this is beneficial because it

talks about how people can make a huge movement if they all work together.
