Prayer Development

A) Theme:
This prayer is an offering for all people that are suffering or going through a hard time. I

hope and pray that one day they will find peace.
B) Reading:
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not

disappoint us, because Gods love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit

who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5, RSVCE)

C) Reflection:
Due to the actions of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world, and all humans are faced with

sin every day. Sin causes a separation from God, other people, and the world around us.

Sin also causes suffering and pain. All humans are born into the state of original sin. Not

all of the effects of suffering are entirely negative. Suffering can cause someone to look at

their perspective on life. The things that people suffer from can teach them to overcome

tragedy and move on to more positive things. Pain can root itself deep within our hearts,

but God will always overcome this pain. God will win over evil because God created the

world. Suffering provides the opportunity to learn endurance and apply it to different

areas in our lives. Endurance can help humans to get through tough times. This endurance

will give us prosperity and hope. Hope is a quality that will make people want to get the

best out of each day. This hope that suffering produces reminds us that the Holy Spirit is

always there for us. God is always ready to intercede for us in times of need.
D) Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, please give your guidance and assistance to all those that are

struggling with a particular situation in their life. Lift their burdens off their hearts, so

that they may see the good of the world around them. Inspire them with the gift of the

Holy Spirit. Instill in them the patience and hope that they need to move on to more

positive things. Let them see their suffering as a building block to the next step in their

lives. Revive the ambition that was once present in their souls. Help all people to follow

the example of Christ, so they may discover what your will for them is. Foster the ability

to build character and endurance in the challenges they face every day. Bless the lives of

every person that is searching for acceptance and satisfaction. Grant peace to all the

people that are giving assistance to someone who is suffering. Lastly, we ask for

forgiveness for any suffering that we have caused another person. We pray this in your

name Lord. Amen.
