Detailed Lesson Plan in Philippine Literature

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the student is expected to:


1. Determine the elements of poetry in the poem, and
2. Explain the meaning of poem.

II. Topic: Understanding Poetry & Elements of Poetry


Materials: Laptop, Projector, Evaluation sheet

III. Motivation:
In teaching the elements of poetry, students will be given the chance to tell about
themselves, they will be given different kinds of activities to help them learn about
the elements of poetry and how to use them in everyday activities. Some of these
activities will be in the form of a game to faster learning and motivate students.

Understanding of Poetry

Poetry is generally considered to be the


oldest of the arts. Long before our forefathers
learned to write, they sang, and recited lines of
verse.
Among the literary genres, poetry is the
most closely related to music, like music, it
appeals to the senses and imagination. Like
music, too, it is meant to be heard. Poets
choose words for their sounds as well as for
their meanings. They combine these words to
create vivid pictures and to express deep
feelings.

arranged and afterwards, you are going to post
it on the board. Kindly assign a representative
from each group. There are only 2 minutes for

Short Poem About Friends

Being friends is about sharing our


live with others. There are some aspects of
our lives that require that we spend a lot of
time together or a lot of writing to help
convey our feelings. Other times sharing
only a few words are more than adequate.
It is not always the long conversation that
conveys the deepest feelings. Sometimes
longer made of expression may-seem
redundant and lacking of profundity.
Putting just the right combination of words
