Background of the Study

The internship report titled Effictiveness of Performance Appraisal system of Jamuna Bank
Limited is submitted of the Bachelor of Business Administration program of University .The
purpose of this internship report is to learn how to conduct a professional research by exploring
practically in banking sector. It comprises the relationship analyst that private sector banks of
Bangladesh in the compensation & employee satisfaction. Bank is very old institution that is
contributing toward the development of any economy and is treated as an important service
industry in the modern world. Economic history shows that development has started everywhere
with the banking system and its contribution towards financial development of a country is the
highest in the initial stage. Modern banks play an important part in promoting economic
development of a country.
Once the employee has been selected, trained and motivated, he is then appraised for his
performance. Performance Appraisal is the step where the management finds out how effective it
has been at hiring and placing employee, If any problems are identified, steps are taken to
communicate with the employee and remedy them
Performance Appraisal is a process of evaluating an employees performance in terms of
its requirements.
Performance Appraisal can also be defined as the process of evaluating the performance and
qualification of employees in terms of the requirements of the job for which he is employed,
for purposes of administration including placement, selection for promotions, providing
financial rewards and other actions which require differential treatment among the
members of a group as distinguished from actions affecting all members equally.
Internship program essential for every student, especially for the students of Business
Administration, which helps them to know the real life situation, for this reason a student takes
the internship program at the last stage of the bachelors degree, to launch a career with some
practical experience. Against this backdrop, I am doing my three months internship in the
Jamuna Bank Ltd., Savar, Branch ,Dhaka , which has help me a lot to understand the real life
situation of banking business.

Objective of the Report


The study has been undertaken with the following objectives:
General Objectives
To provide an overview of Performance Appraisal system in employee performance with
jamuna Bank Savar Branch.
Specific Objective
To identify the impact of HR practice in Jamuna Bank Limited.
To find out the influence of performance appraisal system in employee performance.
To find out the engagement of the employees in Jamuna bank Limited.

Scope of the study


Banks have been playing an important role in economic development and contributing
immensely to build the country. Banking sector is fast expanding in our country because of
globalization and reform of private sector. To survive as a key player in this highly competitive
and complex business environment a bank should develop its business focusing the customers
satisfaction.

Methodology
The internship report has been written on the basis of information collected from primary sources
as well as secondary sources. The primary information has been collected from the personnel, in
this case I have used physical attendance to get positive and negative both side of the company.I
also collected information from all the departmnt In-charges of Savar Branch.The primary data
had been collected in various ways.

There are two types of data will be needed for the study:
1.Primary Data
2.Secondary Data
Primary Data
1. Questionnaire survey.
2. Focus & group discussion.
3. Face to face conversations with the employees and opportunities were given by the
management to work in relevant fields in JBL.
4. By interviewing and interacting customers at Jamuma Bank Bank Ltd. (Savar Branch).
Observing various organizational procedures.

Secondary data were collected


1. From prior research report
2. From any information regarding the Banking sector.
3. From different books and periodicals related to the banking sector.
4. From Newspapers and Internet.

The researcher conducted the research on respondents consisting of Jamuna Bank member.
Data processing methods
Data will be processed thorough Ms Word, Ms Excel etc.
Implementation of the study
The study will be implemented in written report that include all research steps supported by
major finding coerces, etc. the report will be submitted in due date with provides appendix
tables, graphs, charts, figures and related information. Department of business administration,
City University will own the study Md. Sabuj Khan, ID# 13132170 Batch: 32 nd, Major:Human
Resource Management (HRM) will be the researcher of the study. Prof. Mihir Kumar Roy,
Department of Business Administration, City University, will provide technical guidance to the
student.

Submission Date
The researcher proposal is submitted to the supervisor for consideration & necessary action on
14 January 2017. It is hoped that the proposal research will be completed as per time budget
