ASSESSMENT

My assessment throughout the unit is formative with the exception of the skills test on

the last two days.

Assessment #1- Observation

Throughout the unit, the teacher will be walking around and observing students working

on the skill and correcting as needed.

Assessment #2- Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down

At the end of the first lesson, I will do a thumbs up, thumbs down survey to see how

many students understand the motions and execution of a layup. Depending on my

response, I may spend more time on lay ups during the next class.

Assessment #3- Written goals

At the beginning of the first day, I am going to ask the students to write out one personal

goal for the basketball unit. Im going to ask them to be skill specific as to one game-

specific skill they would like to work on. I will tell them my personal goal as an example.

Assessment #4- Rubric/Checklist

This is the summative piece of this unit. During the skills test, students will be evaluated

against a rubric or checklist. I will film students on my ipad to ensure an accurate

evaluation will take place.

Rachel Richards
PS 2
Basketball Unit Plan- Grade 10

Assessment #5- Exit slip- The goal sheet

On the last day of the unit. After the quiz, students will be asked to fill out an exit slip

saying whether or not they met the goal they set on Monday and explain why or why

not.

Assessment #6- Quiz

This quiz will be used formatively to see if my unit objectives were met and to gauge

how the students liked the unit.
