Goal: As my internship continues and assessment pieces become more student-focused and specific I would like to deepen my
understanding of strategies and technologies to implement in the classroom to achieve quantitative and objective data for
assessing stems 1 & 2 in Science. By doing so I will have effective and accurate data that will allow for student reflection and my
own reflection on my teaching practice. Furthermore, giving students and myself the opportunity to reflect and review areas of the
science curriculum that a student may be struggling with and create and implement strategies to better support the student(s)
success.
Through an increased focus on student assessment I am ensuring that I am creating a variety of assessment pieces and
applicable large-scale assessments. As well, assessing all appropriate learning objectives and Stems as outlined by Calgary
Board of Education. This will result in quantitative data that will allow me to successfully interpret and draw conclusions about
student success and struggle and reflect on my own teaching practice. Success in this will ensure I am meeting the Descriptors of
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes related to the interim certification.
