Audience Analysis Keldan Campbell
GRADEMARK REPORT

FINAL GRADE GENERAL COMMENTS

Identif ied Strengths: T here are many places where

you have really strong answers--the second half of
the document is a lot stronger than the f irst half . In
the second half , I get a clear sense that you

/150 understand the challenges in addressing this

audience and getting them to agree with (and act
upon) your propo sal.

Identif ied Weaknesses:T he f irst half of your

audience analysis is a bit weak and you're just not
quite exhibiting a lot of critical thinking quite yet.
Some of this might have been a misunderstanding of
the questions--so go back through and re-answer
the ones I've marked. And look at the other
questions through the same lens. You're really trying
to think through all areas of dealing with this
audience.

Comment 1
We've talked about the challenges with him being the primary audience. I think it works, though
he will def initely pass it on to someone else. A side note: I just remembered that the president
of WVC used to be a technical writer years and years ago--I suspect that you could make a
good appeal to him because of this.
Comment 2
Not accurate! You are a student at the college he is a president of --think this through more
deeply.

Comment 3
Use proper grammar, mechanics, and punctuation in this document--including capitalizing WVC.

Comment 4
No, more like how will they use it later. Will they ref er back to again? If so, what will they look at
specif ically? Will they pass it on to others?

Comment 5
No, this question is asking what their knowledge of having such a system would be, knowledge
of what would be needed, knowledge of graphic design/design elements, etc.

Comment 6
Again, this isn't accurate--see question above.

Comment 7
Good.

Comment 8

T here are always cultural considerations. What is the culture of colleges and community
colleges in particular?

Comment 9
Also cost, time, how dif f icult it will be to implement.

Comment 10
Good--this seems likely.

PAGE 3

Comment 11
Again, good answer.
Again, good answer.

Comment 12
T his is a good start, but also

think about how ideas and issues/problems are handled, and if it's considered okay to bring
them up to people in charge. Is there a hierarchy? Are you going through the proper channels or
considering those aspects? T hat's something to think about, too.

Comment 13
Good idea.

Comment 14
Should it be more f ormal in nature? Have a cover? Be f ormatted as a letter?

Comment 15
Good--and this could add to their course of f erings or their ability to of f er "real world"
experience f or interested students.
