To whom it may concern,

I am happy to write this letter as a recommendation for Reyna Velasquez, who was a
student of mine for two years at Tustin High School in Tustin, CA. Reyna studied the French
language for two years with me, so I have had the opportunity to get to know her both in and out
of class during that extensive time period.

She is a focused student who does not hesitate to ask questions when she does not when
she does not understand a new concept. Language is not something that always comes easy to
students and I see that Reyna takes the initiative to learn where as many others don't bother to
ask when they are confused. She is a motivated learner and readily seeks attention when
needed.

Reyna comes from a family background that does not include family members with college
experience or advanced education. She is working hard towards that goal of changing that very
fact. She is taking the steps necessary to ensure not only admission, but a degree from an
institution of higher learning. If she succeeds, and I believe she has what it takes to do so, she
will be the first in her family to achieve this goal and will be forgoing the path to university
education for others in her family. She is a smart young lady, maintaining a 3.0 or better
throughout her high school career, but because of her lack of mentorship towards college, she
would greatly benefit from guidance and direction in navigating this whole new world of
university admission and life. With this guidance, I believe she will thrive.

Her willingness and genuine concern in caring for others is evident when you get to know
Reyna. She has experience in caring for young children and volunteers her time to tutor those
who may need extra help. She takes her relationships with others seriously and thrives in
positive environments. Reyna has a maturity that is beyond her years and it shows in her work
ethic and how she treats and reacts to those around her.

In conclusion, Reyna is a caring, intelligent, reserved yet amiable young lady whom I
recommend without any reservation for employment, scholarship, or university admission. She
is genuinely motivated, kind and sincere, and was a pleasure to have in my classes. She would
be a wonderful asset to any place of business or academic institution and a well deserving
candidate for financial aid and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me

Sincerely,
Thackrah
