One person in the pair is going to have a recording peg
and the next is going to have the stack of cards from 0-20.
The cards must be shuffled. Those who have the stack of
cards must leave the cards and go and stand outside the

of cards ( and have two seperate piles- ones they have

ask those with the recording pegs to record the number for
example 15.
14. The teacher will then ask the students to come back inside
to their area and on the count of three, take the recording
peg and listen to the number and find it within their pile of
cards. The teacher will keep a tally on the board as to
which team is winning.
15. The teacher will repeat this nine more times until they tell
the partners to switch roles and re-explain the rules if
need be.
16. The Teacher will then repeat this ten more times until all
numbers from 0-20 have been called.
- These photos will be taken during the first part of the lessons
where students have to order the numbers 0-20 and will be used
as guide to the childs understanding and knowledge.
- Next lesson will focus on what students have learnt, what
needs to be retaught and an extension. e.g., moving on to
numbers from 20-40.
