ABSTRACT

Waste management is collection, transportation and disposal of garbage, sewage and

another waste product. Waste management is the process of treating solid wastes and offers
variety of solutions for recycling items that dont belong to trash. It is about how garbage can be
used as a valuable resource in general: the project brings a contribution to the overall
sustainability of they are improvement of overall waste management in the area

Waste management or Waste disposal is all the activities and actions required to manage
waste from its inception to its final disposal. This includes amongst other things, collection,
transport, treatment and disposal of waste together with monitoring and regulation. It also
encompasses the legal and regulatory framework that relates to waste management
encompassing guidance on recycling etc... The term normally relates to all kinds of waste,
whether generated during the extraction of raw materials into intermediate and final products, or
other human activities, including municipal ( residential, institutional, commercial), Agricultural,
and social (health care, house hold hazardous waste, sewage sludge). Waste management is
intended to reduce adverse effects of waste on health, the environment or aesthetics. Waste
management practices are not uniform among countries (developed and developing nations):
regions (urban and rural area) and sectors (residential and industrial). The objective of the study
is to promote waste reduction, recycling, reuse, recovering and create public awareness on the
waste management and recycling industry as well as environmental and industry concerns.
 I have selected 20 houses of the 4th and 5th ward in Marangattupilly panchayath and
used survey method to understand various types of plastic materials used in this locality and to
check whether there is any environmental and health problems in this locality using
questionnaire tool and mainly by observation, for this fifteen open and closed questions were
asked. Today, you can hardly look around you and not spot some items that is made entirely from
plastic or has some plastic ingredient. Plastic has several disadvantages , that prevents from
becoming universal building block of modern human civilization, because of that many
Governments strongly control its use and create complex law that govern its creation, recycling
and environmental impact of waste plastics and chemical that are used for its creation

Plastic have molded the modern world and transformed the quality of life. There is no
human activity where plastics do not play a key role from clothing to shelter from transportation
to communication and from entertainment to health care from practically zero during the
beginning of the 20th century, human kind today consumes more than 150 million tons of plastic
per year

These are some suggestions to control the use of plastics. They are:

1. Use paper bags for purchasing instead of using plastic bags

2. Local authorities should give proper awareness about waste disposal

The study has helped to understand the problems like sanitation facility, drainage system,
use of plastic wastes and classification of waste. Though most of the families are well aware
about these problems due to lack of time , facility, and laziness many of these problems are not
solve properly. For the better participation in Communicative English, our miss provide many
topics to improve our Speaking skill, for this I got The place which I want to visit as my
subject. I think the country I would like to visit most is CHINA. China is a vast country situated
at the eastern part of Eurasia and the western coast of Pacific ocean, covering a land area of
3,706,581 square miles (9,600,000 square kilometers), China is the third largest of the world,
inferior to Russia and Canada. Most of China has a continental climate, though it has an ocean
coast and latitudes range from tropical to Siberian. The Chinese capital Beijing is well known
for its mixture of ancient culture and urban growth. Its hard to explain, why China is my Dream
destination. Its just a place that I long to visit. In china my favorite places are Hong Kong,
Beijing and also the great wall. China has always fascinated me with its unique features.
Anyways I hopefully waiting for the fulfillment of my DREAM
