JUNIOR MINE ENVIRONMENT ENGINEER (Code: EMEME-L)

Purpose of the Role:


Maintain areas safety performance by enforcing and following PTVI standards and environmental programs and standards so that there will be
no fatalities or injuries within the responsibilities area.
To lead PTVI Cr (VI) treatment team and other chemical parameters to ensure that the effluent discharged from mining activities is comply
with standard set up by Government in respect with Cr (VI) substance.

Accountabilities:
1. Comply with all PTVI and EHS procedures, standards and policies in Project area
2. Execute the requirements as stipulated in the EHS policy;
3. Complete Mine Environment Engineering design following PTVI MHS Standard Procedures;
4. Develop project scope and provide alternatives and recommendations to the project engineer, project manager and project sponsor as per
agreement with project sponsor.
5. Produce tender scope of work, review technical bid and propose to project engineer and project manager for the best tender offer.
6. To develop and deployed safety program to ensure that the safety performance in his work group is align and meet with PTVI target for
zero fatality, DI and Medical Aid. Perform a SOI/JCC a week and ensure his Seniors perform an SOI/JCC a week to improve safety
behavior in his section (both contractors and Internal)
7. To provide and update plans for treatment of existing and future sources of effluent from mining operations to ensure the future effluent
will be anticipated properly.
8. To implement ongoing treatment of effluent and provide regular updates of current and future treatment plans and associated costs and
implications so all of information related to treatment plant and effluent quality is available and updated
9. To manage the ongoing treatment facilities to ensure full compliance with all standards and that treatment is cost effective therefore the
quality of effluent always comply with standard setup by Government
10. To conduct an investigation on any incidences on the Cr (VI) limit and other chemical parameter of effluent and propose recommendation
on action plan to avoid future occurrences
11. To develop and maintain ongoing and new monitoring program, analyze and report on these programs to Manager and initiate actions to
deal with any issues arising from the monitoring to ensure there is no surprise to Manager.
12. To ensure that all treatment sites are being effectively operated and maintained and that the necessary supplies and spares are on hand
to facilitate this operation and maintenance
13. Keep up to date with treatment technologies to ensure that effluent treatment at PT Vale remains cost effective, efficient and can meet
any changes to existing effluent standards
14. To generate regular report on work achievement results, safety, cost and effluent quality (weekly, monthly and quarterly).
15. Liaise with Other Section/ Departments; coordinate with other parties to understand the future need and requirements of the areas in
regards to an effective working relationship with other parties and Work with external consultants as required.

Technical Specialization:
1. Requires good report writing skills
2. Understanding of costs and capital preparation
3. Understand project management skills for developing and implementing
4. Knowledgeable about Chemical
5. Environment/Chemical experience
6. Organizational Skills
7. Possess good leadership and communication skills
8. Possess English communication skill fluent in both written and spoken
9. Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Requirements:
University degree in Environment, Chemical or engineer exposure specify in Environment or Chemical course/paper/thesis is preferable with
minimum GPA 2.76 (scale 4.0).
Minimum 18 (eighteen) months experience in chemical and/or chromium hexavalent treatment.
