COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Basic principles of soil mechanics and
fundamentals of application in engineering
practice; site investigation and subsurface
exploration; soil composition and texture;
classification; permeability and seepage;
subsurface stress and deformation
phenomena in soils, laboratory testing; shear
strength of soils

Grade = 60% lecture + 40% lab; Passing is 60%.

Failure to take the exam without valid reason presented prior to or


after the exam, will be zero for that particular exam. Attendance
will be checked every meeting. Cheating is not allowed
