At the end of this activity, you will be skilful in designing product-oriented performance
assessment.

Your Task
Design a product-oriented performance assessment by going through the process through the
following steps:
1. Visit a class and identify product-oriented activities.
2. Choose one product-oriented activity and study the process.
3. Design a performance assessment plan for the product-oriented activity you have chosen.
4. Develop a portfolio of your assessment plan.
5. Reflect on your experience.

the teacher give project to his students which is designing the wood using the different color of the
paints.
He give the instruction clearly to his students.
The students gave their best to finish their project.
The students will develop their creativity in designing the wood using the different color of paints.

What are the best features of my product-oriented performance assessment design?

For me the best features of my Product-oriented performance assessment design is to develop my


students on their skills in creativity like in designing the wood using the different color of paints and to
develop their cognitive domain on what they want to design on the wood. And also by this product-oriented
performance task, I will assess my students based on the outcomes of their work.

What specific conditions are necessary for a successful use of my product-oriented performance
assessment design?

My product-oriented performance assessment design is successful when they give their best And
creativity to finish the task with a very successful outcome/outputs.

What basic points should the user of this design consider?

The user of this design should be consider the following:

Give the instruction clearly.


Make a rubrics for judging the outputs of their work.
Make sure that you have the knowledge on the task that you will give.

Analysis
1. Do you think your originally design product-oriented performance assessment can appropriately
assess the teachers learning objective? Why? Why not?
For me yes, because the design which is the product oriented performance assessment is appropriately
assess by the learning objective of the teacher because based on the learning objective of the teacher it is
focuses on the outcome/output of the given task.

2. Why do teachers need to give attention to the students product-oriented tasks? Why do they need
to assess them?

The teachers need to give attention to the students on the product-oriented task in order to develop
their skills like creativity. And it is also need to assess them for us to measure their creativity on the task
given and for them to give their best to finish the task given.

3. In what conditions can the product-oriented performance assessment be need more appropriately?
Product-oriented performance assessment be need more appropriately when we are assigned to
judge on the outcomes or on the outputs. And if we need and we want to measure their creativity like in
designing the wood using the different color of the pints.

After answering all the questions in this field study I realized that as a future teacher we
should be more observant and give more attention to our pupils/students because all of them have
a different characteristics and capabilities that we should enhance through the use of different
methods, strategies and assessment tools. Also, after answering this field study I understand how
a teacher should be in dealing his/her pupils. And through this I have learned many things that I
can use when I am already in the field of teaching. That in giving assessment is a task that we need
to think and examine carefully and we should based it on the learners and the learning objectives
for it to be successfully done.

For me my understanding on my experience in using the authentic assessment is that, it will


help the students to develop their 3 domains of learning. And in using this authentic assessment the
students and the lessons become interesting. And I as a future teacher it is more appropriate to be
used this type of assessment in measuring their knowledge and skills on the task provided.
On this authentic assessment i learned that when we assess the students we need to
have a rubrics for us to have a basis and guidelines to achieve fairness on the class.
And for me authentic assessment is not easy, because you as a teacher , you will
engaged on the different strategies and methods to be used to your students for them
to learn.
