Design concept

The designer envisioned the resort to be a hotel that will serve as the oasis of the area. It will be a peaceful place in
the midst of urban settlement. The modern concept of the resort is that planned as an integrated development with
the consideration given to its comfortability with natural environment and possible benefits to local community. The
resort will be an escape from all the stressful things from busy business district. One of the main attraction will be
the floating restaurant in the middle of the hotel buildings. The users will enjoy the convenience of being minutes
away from the busy district and at the same time feels like on a vacation. They can also enjoy the comprehensive
range of facilities like swimming pools, childrens pool, jacuzzi, function rooms, spa and gym.

Design consideration

Circulation- creating a good circulation by lessening the obstacle and barriers. Taking into consideration the
circulation between the users and other elements in the site. Considering the vehicular traffics and how it may affect
the site.
Function- designing spaces that is functional to all the users.
Compliance to the law- the design should comply to the national building code, structural code and other
applicable laws and standards.
Innovation- incorporating the use of new and innovative building materials, construction and techniques/system in
the redevelopment of the area.
Security- considering different elements that will make the users feel safe and secure inside the vicinity of the
project.
Aesthetics- All over appearance of a Hotel is one of the very important consideration for a Hotel. It should
be attractive and should reflect the architecture of that area and should also have character of the services
being provided in that Hotel.
Efficient plan- The plan of the Hotel should be such that it should be functional and also appeal to the eye. All the
services should be so designed that it meets various principles of lay-out and design.
Suitable material- The Hotel should be designed in such a way that it should be able to use the material locally
available which will be cost effective and efficient.
Visibility and Accessibility Consider road access and surrounding street patterns.
Surface Conditions Analyze terrain, vegetation, existing buildings and roads and environmental constraints.
Confirm location and underground utilities, height of the water table, bearing capacity of the soil, existence of
environmental hazards etc.
Regulatory restriction Height restrictions, parking requirements, highway restrictions etc.
Site Character Describe qualities of the site such as surrounding uses and views.
Orientation- considering site orientations to acquire large amount of sunlight and natural ventilation.

To design a resort that will serve as one the tourist attraction in the area

To be able to design a hotel resort that provides visitors with different experience that will indulge their 5 senses.

To be able to incorporate the concept of sustainability in the design by the use of low maintenance but durable
materials

To be able to preserve the cozy and welcoming environment by combining the natural and man-made elements in
the entire development
