SUBJECT: Capacitor Modification on the Power Supply PCB

BACKGROUND: There is a chance the mounting bolt that secures the oven over
the range could touch the capacitor.
This applies only to the models listed in the table below.

Note: if the unit has already been installed skip to step 5
Step 1 Verify the unit falls
within the serial
number range
specified in the
table above. Put
the defective OTR
unit on a flat
surface, then
remove the 3
staples and the
packing tape.
Step 2 Open the carton
box and remove
the upper packing
filler set.

Step 3 Remove the


owners manual
and put the carton
box on a flat work
surface.
Step 4 Rotate the carton
box so the top
faces forward. Pull
the unit forward
approximately four
inches and remove
the door tape.

Step 5 If the unit has been


installed, loosen
the right hand
mounting bolt first;
otherwise remove
the 3 grille screws.

Step 6 Open the door and
remove the front
grille by pushing
the grille toward
the left and then
out.

Step 7 Remove the single


screw securing the
control box.

Step 8 Disassemble the


control box and
front cover.
* To remove the
front cover,
remove the screw
and slide the front
cover UP. Slide
the grill to the side
to access the PC
board.

Step 9 You may need to


loosen the
mounting bolt to
access the
capacitor,
otherwise
disconnect 2 wires
from the capacitor
terminal and bend
the capacitor
terminal down.

terminal to unlock

Note 2:
Depending on the
size of your hands,
you may need to
remove the PC
board to access
the capacitor
wiring.

Step Attach the new


10 capacitor on the
upper cavity with a
single screw.

Step Connect the 2


11 wires to the new
capacitor
terminals. Note:
these are not
polarized
capacitors.

Step Reassemble the


12 front cover and
control box

Step Secure the control
13 box with a single
screw.

Step Assemble the front


14 grille and secure it
with three
mounting screws

Step Connect the power


15 cord to an
Electrical outlet.
Place a cup of
water or similar
load in the unit.
Verify the unit is
operating properly.
Note: Test time
should be no more
than 5 seconds.
Also verify both
the vent fan and
light are working
by selecting them
on and off for a
few seconds.

Step Once the repair
16 has been
confirmed, affix the
label inside the
door in the lower
right hand corner
of the cooking
guide label.

Step On new units,


17 reinstall the tape
on the door and
reinstall the plastic
over wrap. Slide
the OTR back into
the box.
Step Rotate the box so
18 the opening is up.

Step Put the Owners


19 Manual and
packing filler set
on the door.

Step Secure the box


20 with 3 staples and
re-tape the seam.
Attach the 2 Pass
stickers over the
bar code label on
the width and
length sides of the
carton box.
