Fall 2016/Spring 2017: Knight-Thon Team Captain for Omega Phi Alpha, a service sorority
that focuses on bettering the communities of the university, Orlando-area, nations of the
world, and the sorority itself. Knight-Thon is UCFs dance marathon benefiting our local
Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals.

burden of the puppy-raisers

Fall 2015: Service-learning experience through the Burnett Honors College, where I
taught a class of first graders at Ventura Elementary School, a Title 1 school (15 hours)
Through core lesson plans I helped get the class thinking about what they
want to pursue and how to get there, encouraging them that college is possible
along the way
Learned that if hope can be instilled at a young age, the achievement-
oriented mindset doesnt have to be lost in low-income students
EXPERIENCE
Fall 2016: Grant Writer for The Center, located in downtown Orlando, is a nonprofit
organization that provides a wide range of services to the local LGBT+ community
With a team of two other writers, I helped assemble a grant proposal for a
$150,000 grant that Disney invited The Center to apply to.
Learned that diligence and attention to detail is absolutely critical when
putting together a grant proposal, and you always have to be ready to ask more
questions.
Fall 2016: Public Relations Chair for Omega Phi Alpha, a service sorority that focuses on
bettering the communities of the university, Orlando-area, nations of the world, and the
sorority itself
Run all social media accounts for our chapter of the sorority, including our
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube account, which I created along with its
