Presidential Tax Returns: The House killed,


Y Y N N N 229-185, a Democratic push for the Ways
and Means Committee to review President
Trumps 2006-2015 tax returns and report its
findings to the House, as a check on financial
conflicts of interest and ties to Russians. A
yes vote was to kill the bid.
Repeal of Regulations: The House voted, 240
Y Y N N N -185, to set up a commission with subpoena
powers to review federal regulations and
target for repeal those seen as outdated and
too costly. A yes vote was to pass a GOP bill
(HR 998) to remove certain federal
regulations on U.S. companies.
Presidential Conflicts of Interest: The
N N Y Y Y House refused, 190-235, to exempt from HR
998 (above) any rules aimed at preventing
financial conflicts of interest by employees
and officials of the executive branch,
including President Trump. A yes vote was to
adopt the Democratic motion.
Clampdown on Regulations: The House
Y Y N N N voted, 246-176, to impose new transparency
and disclosure obligations, including Internet
postings, on federal agencies as they gather
public comments on proposed new
regulations. A yes vote was to send the bill
(HR 1004) to the Senate.
Transparency Rules for Trump: The House
N N Y Y Y defeated, 189-232, an attempt by Democrats
to hold President Trump to the same
transparency and disclosure standards in his
personal finances as HR 1004 (above)
requires of federal agencies. A yes vote
backed the Democratic motion.
Wilbur Ross Confirmation: The Senate
Y N confirmed, 72-27, Wilbur Ross as the 40th U.
S. secretary of commerce. Ross became a
billionaire by remaking troubled firms in fields
such as textiles and coal, often utilizing
foreign trade deals he now will help to rewrite.
A yes vote backed Ross.

In the week of March 6, the House will debate the 2017 military budget
and could take up a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, while the
