Initial walkthrough
Meet with handler/point of contact and go through standard procedures and practices used internally. Make sure
that requests and orders for set-ups and software are followed up. Get access cards and user names/passwords
for systems and portals.

Administration
Human resources will conduct and brief walk through of the systems and benefits for each employee. In the
mean time, try to set up the language courses and other supplementary courses needed for personal
development. Start away with the SSGs and HMS training as soon as available. Also complete the health check
up and other mandatory formalities.

Mine visits

Aitik Mine
Aitik mine is Swedens largest copper (Cu) mine with a depth of 310m. The mine is currently being extended
northwards. The operation cycle consists of

Drilling--> Blasting -->Loading --> Hauling --> Crushing--> Processing

A major part of the drilling is carried out by Atlas Copcos 315 Pit Vipers; they are capable of drilling 16 inch
holes. Smaller drills are used for contouring of the mine. At Aitik, the depths of the holes are generally 18m-
19m. Aitik mine conducts 2 blasts per week currently (2012-03-07). Adjacent to the main mine is a smaller
quarry like mine called Salmijrvi which is currently being worked on.

The mine currently tackles major water problems through multi stage continuous pumping.
