ABSTRACT

The electricity requirements of the world including India are increasing alarming rate
and the power demand has been running ahead of supply. It is also now widely recognised
that the fossil fuel (i.e., coal, petroleum and natural gas) and other conventional resources,
presently being used for generation of electrical energy, either sufficient or suitable to keep
pace with ever increasing demand of electrical energy of world. When it is about the case of
the industrial level of production works even they are having the direct power supply to their
own transformers, for the large industries they provide power for their own usage, and they
are the responsible for the power production in such power plants are named as KEPTY
power plants. In BHEL solar power plant is one of the KEPTY along with the diesel set.
The majority of our power comes directly from the sun, but the challenge is to make
use of solar energy directly and in non polluting fashion. In this project we are visited the
solar power plant and had a glance on the generation of solar power. It is having the capacity
of generation of 1.5MW by the monotype PV cells, the PV models are connected to the
inverting sections directly where the inversion of current has being possess. Here the input is
the radiation of the solar from the sun and the output available from this KEPTY will
interconnected to the main grid to avoid the faulty. If main supply interrupted then it will
provide the light loads.
As the sun is the universal the power from this is reliable, if we put the initial budget
thrown there is a less maintenance and the running cost is also same as less, because this is
having no labour works in the unit. There is controlling unit here by setting in that unit we
will have the controlling over the process. We also have the display room where we note
down the peak load curve and peak intensity of sun and maximum production for specific
period of time.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We are grateful to our guide Mr.M.S.R.K.SOMESH, in BHEL for the ideas that
leads to this project work, for his continuous guidance, support and unfailing patience,
throughout the course of the work. His valuable comments during this period have been in
valuable and worth for a life time.
We drive our great pleasure in expressing our sincere gratitude to
Mr.K.RAMAKRISHNA PRASAD, Head OF The Department, for his timely suggestions,
which helped us to complete this project work successfully.
We sincerely thank Mr.G.PAVAN, our Project guide for their guidance in completing
our project work successfully.
We express heart-felt thanks for the friends who contributed either directly or
indirectly for the successful completion of the project work.
Above all the moral support given by the parents and during this period of tribulation
had been invaluable and will long remain etched in our memory.
DECLARATION
We declare that the project work reported in present thesis titled 1.5MW SOLAR
