The Judicial
The functions of the US Judicial Branch Branch of the
The judicial branch is one of the three branches of the US United States
government. Our speaker will discuss the hierarchy of the court
systems starting from city court up to the US Supreme Court, the
state and federal court systems, the state and federal courts of
appeals, US District Courts, and how cases go from the state courts
to the US Courts of Appeal to the US Supreme Court. He will also
discuss how judges are selected and the briefing and appeals
processes of the courts.

Mr. Rowley holds a B.S. from Arizona State University and a J.D. from Southwestern
LONE STAR COLLEGE
Univ ersity in Los Angeles. He practiced law for 30 years and is a member of the Bar of the
United States Supreme Court where he has filed 3 Briefs and was successful in the case of LAvenue
Graville v. Dodge. He is a m ember of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District
Court, is a m ember of the Arizona State Bar, and was recognized as a top rated Arizona Jl. Raya Pasar Minggu Kav. 16
Lawyer in 2015. He also served as a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Pro Tem and Jakarta Selatan 12780
conducted trials and arbitrations on the civil and family law court calendars.
Mr. Rowley is now retired from his career as a lawyer and judge and currently lives in
Jakarta with his wife, Robin, serving as a volunteer missionary leader for the Church of 10.00-11.30 AM
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is fluent in Spanish and Indonesian.
