LESSON PLAN FOR GRADE 8

I. LESSON OBJECTIVES
At the end of one hour session, the students will be able to:
1. Construct sentences using adjectives;
2. Demonstrate appreciation of using adjectives in communication; and
3. Engage in drama presentation using adjectives in the dialogues.

Activity: Hear me out!


1. The teacher will play the audio material.
2. The students will be tasked to listen carefully to the dialogue.
3. The students will list down adjectives they hear from the conversation.
4. After listening, the teacher will call students randomly to present their
work.
5. Below is the script of the conversation that the students will task to
hear.

Anna: How was your job hunting going?


Bea: Terrible! Im so disappointed! I didnt realize it would be this much hard work.
Anna: Well, you have to be realistic and confident to get good job. How was your
interview?
Bea: Its horrible! I havent got much experience at anything.
Anna: Ah, then you should try volunteering to get some work experience. Be brave and
strong!
Bea: Oh, I dont know if I could do that. Im quite shy.
Anna: Ah-ha! So thats the real problem!

Analysis

Abstraction
Adjectives is the describing word, the main syntactic role of which is to qualify
a noun or noun phrase, giving more information about the object signified.
It is a word that describes, identifies or further defines a noun or a pronoun.

It is any member of a class of words that modify nouns and pronouns,


primarily by describing a particular quality of a word they are modifying.
Here are some example of adjectives:
Bitter

Delicious

Fluffy

Chilly

Slippery

Here are some sentences using adjectives:


1. They live in a beautiful house.
2. Lisa is wearing a sleeveless shirt today.
3. She wore a pink shoes.
4. This shop is much nicer.
5. Jean is an adorable baby.

Application
In a sheet of paper, underline the adjectives in the following sentences and identify
the noun which it modifies.

1. He writes meaningless letters.


2. Lindas hair is gorgeous.
3. I met a homeless person in the New York.
4. Mary has a collection of expensive Russian dolls.
5. I bought a pair of black leather shoes.
6. Susan is really clever.
7. Beware of the green-eyed monster.

IV. EVALUATION
In a sheet of paper, construct sentences using the following adjectives.

V. ASSIGNMENT
1. The class will be grouped into four.
2. The students will present a drama presentation using adjectives in the
dialogue.
3. Each group will choose any topic they want to present.
4. The class will present it minimum of 3 minutes and maximum of five
minutes.
5. The role-paly will be presented next meeting.
Criteria:
Theme - 10 pts.
Clarity of voice/ Diction - 10 pts.
Facial expressions/ Body gestures - 10 pts.
Props and costumes - 5 pts.
Creativity - 5 pts.
