Requirements for Thesis Programming End Term Viva-Voice Examination

This is to inform that the End Term Thesis Programming Viva-voice examination of the MPEP 3
rd
Semester is scheduled to be held on 23/11/2016 from 09.30 AM onwards in EP 3 Semester Studio.
The End Term thesis programming Viva-voice examination assesses the students on following
parameters:
Conceptual understanding of topic
Continuous progress in developing the topic from initial idea to detailed proposal through relevant
literature and case study document
Selection of appropriate study area/areas with proper justification
Identification of appropriate research methods from literature and case studies and linking them
to data source
Presentation of work process/methodology in a logical sequence
Presentation of base map of study area in a suitable scale/scales

Presentation Mode:
All students are required to give presentation through A0 size Sheets (Maximum 3 and
Minimum 2) with legible font size and maps of good graphic quality. Presentation time is 10
minutes per student followed by 10 minutes of discussion
Kindly prepare and adhere to stipulated time of presentation

The sheets need to structured and composed consisting of following contents:


1. Thesis topic and definition of key terms
2. Contextual background, need and justification of topic
3. Review of literature (Journal Articles/ Published Reports/ Books) related to topic
4. Aim and Objective, Scope and Limitation
5. Delineation of study area using suitable scale base map
6. Methodology (approach to be adopted to conduct study)
7. Research techniques
8. Listing of data required linking to objectives along with sources/ primary survey requirement
9. Expected outcome and study utility
10. Checklist of tasks/data collection and primary survey to be conducted during winter break
11. References

Submission:
Synopsis Hardcopies (2 nos.) having above mentioned contents and soft copy of sheets at
09:30 AM on the day of review

All the students are required to be present in their studio on or before 09.30 AM for attendance,
submission of synopsis and pinning up of sheets. All students are required to attend presentation of all
others also and strictly limit their presentation to the allotted time. The review schedule is random, so
presence of all the students is mandatory at all times throughout the day.
