1. Characteristics
Gpp 01 Palm-size instrument purposely studied to radio receive the weight from a
transmitting board or process the weight of a load cell lodged within the container.
This instrument allows the weight to be calibrated and sent along a serial line.
1.1. Mechanical features:
Plastic housing
Alloy steel load cell
Mechanical resistance of the cell to overload without alterations, higher than 200% the end-
scale value.
Safety level greater than 5
1.2. Electrical features:
Operation with alkaline batteries (3 x AA size) or (2 x AA size) with load cell.

Autonomy of 100 hours approximately.
1.3. Electronic features:
Five-digit liquid-crystal display unit and battery charging indication

Work temperature - 5 C / + 40 C
Accuracy +/- 0.1 % on the end-scale value
1.4. Indications on display
Stable weight: it is signalled by the indication of measurement unit lighting up: if the
indication is off, the weight is unstable, if it is on, the weight is stable.
Battery: the state of the battery is signalled by the indicator in the form of a battery. The
notches on the indicator mark the state
Net: the net weight is indicated by the message NET.
1.5. Operating features:
Digital ZERO and WEIGHT settings.

Automatic zero selection on switching on (zeroizing of load accessories)
Digital filter selection (grater attenuation of weight oscillations).
Automatic switch-off selection (at stable weight).
Serial output or printer with speed 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 baud.
2. DESCRIPTION OF OPERATING FEATURES

2.1. KEYS FUNCTIONS
PN = Normal pressing (less than 1 second)
TP = Held pressed (more than 2 seconds)
KEY MODE (PN) print receipt (if enabled)

KEY MODE (TP) measurement unit change over (kg-kN-lb-N).
KEY TARE (PN) allows the manual zeroing of weight to be performed/removed.

KEY TARE (PT) allows the function peak or hold to be activated / removed (if enabled).
KEY ON/OFF (PN) it will switch on the display backlighting for 10 seconds (on request).
KEY ON/OFF (PT) it allows the instrument to be switched on and off.
ALL OF THE DATA ARE STORED INTO AN ERASABLE MEMORY VIA

SOFTWARE ONLY AND REMAIN UNCHANGED EVEN AFTER SWITCHING
OFF THE UNIT.
IF THE ON/OFF PUSH-BUTTON DOES NOT OPERATE AND/OR THE DISPLAY

UNIT IS OFF OR THE BATTERY CHARGING INDICATION IS BLINKING, THIS
MEANS THAT THE BATTERIES OF THE UNIT NEED TO BE REPLACED.
3. USERS FUNCTIONS
Digital filter: if the function is enabled, an oversized weight-stabilizing filter is inserted.
Automatic zero on switching on the unit: if the function is enabled, any time the
instrument is switched on, it reaches the zero state by cancelling small zero differences.
This function can be used to zeroize chains, accessories, etc.
Be careful. It will cancel all the weight that is present on switching on the unit, we suggest
you do not use it in the presence of automatic switch-off.
Instrumental zero: it allows the dynamometer zero to be performed at any time without
damaging the weight calibration. Unlike the zero performed by using the Tare key or the
remote control, this key will remain stored even on switching off the unit.
Switch off: if the function is enabled and the dynamometer remains unused, for the set time
and with stable weight, the automatic switching off will take place.
Rate: Setting of the display update frequency (rate) (This setting can vary the batterys life).
Codes: In this section, advanced settings can be made.
4. USERS SETUP
To gain access tot he instruments settings, simultaneously press the keys MODE and
TARE until the text Filt is displayed.
OPERATING PROCEDURE
1 FILt The display unit will show FILt, which corresponds to the
selectable digital filter
MODE Press MODE to move to the following parameter.(2)
MODE Press MODE for a long time to go back to the weighing state
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the digital filter selection, then
MODE Press MODE to change over between F no and F SI where:
F no standard filter
F SI oversized filter.
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the selection
TARE Set with TARE a filter value 1 to 9
MODE Press MODE for a long time to store the selected value and go
back to the settings selection mode.
2 AUt 0 The display unit will show Aut 0, which corresponds to the
automatic zero on switching on the unit.
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the automatic zero selection, then
MODE Press MODE to change over between A no and A SI where:
A no automatic zero inhibited
A SI automatic zero enabled.
TARE Press TARE to enter the selection
MODE Set with MODE and TARE a weight value within which the
automatic zero will be performed.
MODE Press MODE for a long time to store the selected value and go
back to the settings selection mode.
3 ZEro The display unit will show -ZEro-, which corresponds to the zero
setting.

TARE When the dynamometer is unloaded, press TARE to perform the
zero setting, and you will automatically leave the settings in order
to be able to visually check the calibration made.
4 SPEGn The display will show SPEGn which corresponds to the time-
based switch-off
MODE Press MODE for a long time to go back to the weighing state.
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the switch-off selection, then

MODE Press MODE to change over between S no and S SI where:
S no time-based switch-off inhibited
S SI time-based switch-off enabled .
TARE Press TARE to enter the selection
TARE Set with MODE and TARE the switch-off time (minutes)
MODE Press MODE for long to store the selected value, you will go back
to the settings selection menu.
5 Funct The display will show Funct which corresponds to selection of

peak and hold functions
MODE Press MODE for a long time to go back to the weighing state.
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the switch-off selection, then

MODE Press MODE to change over among F no, PEAC, HOLd where:
F no: no function selected,
PEAC: Peak function selected,
HOLd: Hold function selected (press TARE to store Hold
function; press MODE to change between A Ps,Tast, where: A
Ps: Hold function with stable weight.
Tast: Hold function when Mode key is pressed.)
TARE Press TARE to store the selected value, you will go back to the
settings selection menu.
6 RATE The display unit will show RATE, which corresponds to the
selection of the display unit updating rate.
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the function selection, then

MODE Press MODE to change over among MAS, 2-1 S, 1-1 S, 1-2 S and
1-4 S where:
MAS: Update rate equal to 3 conversions per second
2-1 S: 2 conversions per second
1-1 S: 1 conversion per second
1-2 S: 1 conversion every 2 seconds
1-4 S: 1 conversion every 4 seconds
Press TARE to store the selected value and go back to the settings
TARE selection menu.
7 CODE The display unit will show CODE which corresponds to the
advanced configuration section.
MODE Press MODE to go back to the first parameter.(1)
TARE Press TARE to gain access to the advanced selection where it is

compulsory to enter a code for each special setting.
Enter the code to be used.
C0000
MODE Press MODE for a long time to enter the selection
MODE Press MODE for a long time, with the code at zero you will leave
the setting mode.
5. ADVANCED CONFIGURATION (for technicians only)

The codes that are found in the unit are:
29417 Complete reset of data memory and calibrations.

Dial the code and press MODE for a long time to execute the reset
Warning: after this operation, the instrument will need recalibrating.
11770 Converters configuration
Enter the code and press MODE for a long time to continue with the setting,
With MODE you switch between converter (C SI) and radio reception (C NO).
Continue with TARE (if C NO is selected) .
Select the transmission rate with MODE (1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400).
Note: if used in receiving mode, the baudrate is 2400
Choose between the Manchester (M SI) or standard (M no) reception mode with the
MODE key.
Continue with TARE.
Choose between the weight (PESO) or converter points (PUNTI) with the MODE
key.
Continue with TARE.
Choose the number of batteries (nb can be 1,2,3)
Confirm with TARE.
02000 Reception of the programme and the transmitters version: switch on the transmitter
after switching on the instrument.
Continue with TARE.
Now, a value that corresponds to the intensity of the reception field will be
displayed.
Confirm with MODE.
00531 Serial configuration
Choose between enabling the serial output:(S SI) or inhibiting it (S no) with MODE.
Continue with TARE.
Select the transmission rate with MODE (1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400).
Note: if used in receiving mode, the baudrate is 2400
Continue with TARE.
Choose the transmission type: continuous (Conti), with repeater (riPEt), with printer
(StAMP) with MODE.
Continue with TARE.
If you chose continuous transmission, you can enable the transmission of the
measurement unit ( U SI U NO) by pressing MODE.
If you chose transmission with repeater, you can choose the number of digits to be
transmitted (C 5 or C 6) by pressing MODE.
If you chose transmission with printer, you can choose the printer type: 80 columns
(S 80c), 24 columns receipt (S 24c), 24 columns on one sole line (S 24L)

00400 Calibration code
Enter the code and press MODE for a long time to continue with the setting,
Choose the division value with MODE and TARE, confirm by pressing MODE for
a long time. Perform the zero setting by pressing MODE. Load a weight and press
TARE, set the loaded weight value and press MODE for a long time. If necessary,
also calibrate the following steps.
00022 Various configurations

Enter the code and press MODE to continue with the setting, the various parameters
are:
P Min (n) This parameter is the weight value within which the weighing
is considered to be minimum. The measurement unit is the
same as that of the displayed weight.
T 0tr (t) This parameter defines a time range which, once over, causes
any zero variations to be compensated.
R 0tr (r) This parameter defines a weight range within which all zero
variations need to be compensated.
P MAS (P) (If envisaged), it defines a weight value which, once exceeded,
causes the display unit to lock out the reading of weight and
display
T PS (S) .This parameter defines a time range which, once elapsed,
causes a weight that is not moving to be considered as stable.
R PS (c) This parameter defines a weight range within which a weight
is considered to be stable

According to the senses of the art. 13, Legislative Decree 25 July

2005, n.151 Accomplishment of the Directives 202/95/CE,
2002/96/CE and 2003/108/CE, regarding the reduction in the use
of dangerous substances in electric and electronics equipments, as
well as the disposal of waste material.
The symbol of the crossed rubbish skip stamped on the
equipment or on the package or on the using manual indicates
that at the end of the useful life the device must be collected in a
specific collection, separately from other waste material as
sanctioned on the Legislative Decree 151/2005.
