FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
The Well Plug & Abandonment (Sr.) Engineer will be part of the Project/Commercial Department in Hoofddorp.
The Well Plug & Abandonment (Sr.) Engineer is the leading engineer for all plug and abandonment activities,
working closely with the onshore engineering team and project team. Translating all Plug and Abandonment
opportunities to successful projects in line with company objectives.
THE TASKS OF THE WELL PLUG & ABANDONMENT (SR.) ENGINEER ARE:
- The P&A engineer is overall accountable for planning, support of execution & wrap up of assigned plug
& abandonment activities & campaigns.
- Develops procedures and work schedules for (project) engineers.
- Prepare planning and execution of well abandonment operations by using the correct P&A steps (Plug
placement / cementing / downhole tooling / engineering risks reviews).
- Securing the necessary equipment and services to conduct well abandonment operations.
- Making sure all P&A activities are compliant to both Seafox Well Management system and with Oil and
Gas UK Guidelines.
- Preparing cost estimates by selecting the necessary equipment, personnel and services to conduct
offshore P&A operations.
- Preparation of all required P&A engineering documentation.
- Advise in new technology, vessel possibilities and equipment for more cost effective operations and
communicate with Authorities and Partners on Technical Issues.
- Provides technical specifications for quotation or project preparations in line with Seafox standards,
and ensures compliance with maintenance standards and Seafox procedures.
- Performs calculations on cement volumes needed for P&A activities based on well information.
- Generate and distribute regular reports from the operations and ensure final reporting to the
Technical Manager / Project Manager and client.
- Will work closely with Commercial team during tender process.
FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS:
- MSc degree in Petroleum / Well Engineering.
- Significant experience in oil and gas industry with P&A and well intervention projects (5-10 years).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Experience with engineering software (AutoCad / Inventor).
- Good communication / reporting skills.
- Hands-on and pro-active attitude.
- Good planning and organization skills.
