CLASS DESCRIPTION
The students in this elementary class are between 12-13 years old. They are in the fourth year
of English, so they are still learning English grammar and vocabulary. They have shown
enthusiasm and they seem keen on learn new things and words. They still have problems of
pronunciation, but they try to express themselves as well as they can.

Anticipated Problems:
The students may not read very well in English, they still have problems with the
pronunciation and they might not fully understand the requested tasks stated by the teacher
due to their little knowledge of the English language.

AIMS:
to revise their knowledge of the Present Tense Simple & Continuous, the Comparison
of adjectives and Ss ability to give directions.
to complete tasks of vocabulary practice

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:


use the vocabulary acquired in the previous class
use the Present Tense Simple and Continuous to write sentences
use specific vocabulary to give directions.
use their knowledge of the English language to solve different exercises

Speaking
The teacher greets the students, checks attendance and makes sure that the conditions are
proper for the lesson to begin.

Speaking
The teacher starts the lesson by giving a secret message to Ss to decode. The message is in
Anacondian and it says: Solve all exercises and be rewarded.

Writing
Books closed the teacher writes 5 sentences on the board (exercise A, page 61) making
students decide whether they are true or false on account of the previous spying lessons. Ss
correct the false statements with the help of the teacher.

Reading Writing
The teacher asks the students to write a short paragraph giving directions to their colleague.
They have to leave from school and get to somewhere in their village ( the church, the police
station, the forest, the river). Ss are asked to do this in pairs by paying attention to the
vocabulary in the language check.

The teacher supports students and corrects them if necessary when they give their answers:
Two groups write their paragraph on the board with the teacher eliciting the mistakes.

Speaking and listening.
The teacher divides the students into five groups giving each group a photo of a famous
person. The task is for them to describe the person without telling anyone the name. The
famous people are: Obama, Trump, Gheorghe Hagi, Simona Halep. The leader of the group
reads the description aloud while the other students try to guess the name.
A fifth group ( made up of weaker students) is asked to name the job of these people and
where do they live, as well as any other relevant information.

Reading Writing
The teacher asks the students to look at language revision exercises from page 61. They have
grammar exercises. In exercise D, they have to write sentences describing the sentences in the
textbook. In exercise E, students have to choose the correct form of the verb in brackets. In
exercise F, students have to build up sentences for the answers given in the textbook using the
Past Simple.

At the end of the class, the teacher gives marks to the students who gave the correct answers
during the entire class. If the exercises are not finished, the students must do them at home as
homework.
