Get Their Attention! (5 minutes)

Materials: Spinner

INTRODUCE yourself, and then say:

Welcome to Spin It to Win It, a brand new series where we are playing
awesome games & seeing how in everything we do we WIN because Jesus
loves us.

PLAY a game to get to know each other using the Spinner:

1. Have one child flick the spinner.
Need to Know:
I Can Believe Gods 2. When the spinner stops, look at who it is pointing to!
Promises! 3. The child who flicked the spinner should pinky promise (link pinkies) with the
child the spinner is pointing to, and then they can tell the group their names.
4. Continue playing until all kids have been introduced.
Bible Story:
John is Born INTRODUCE kids to what we are learning today:
Luke 1:5-25, 57-80
Just like we can pinky promise, God promises you and me SO many things! The
difference is that God ALWAYS keeps His promises, and we can BELIEVE each
one that He makes.
Materials:

FOLLOW the instructions on the Bible Story Page.
Filler Guide
After the story, ASK:

1. In this story, what promises did God make? (That Zechariah and Elizabeth
would have a son and that God would send a Savior)
2. True or False: God ALWAYS kept His promises. (True)

3. Do you have a hard time keeping your promises? (Allow responses)

The good news is that God always keeps His promises! Since God keeps His
promises, we can believe what He says!
Thats what we need to know today! Lets say it like Zechariah did when he
couldnt talk! Everyone keep your mouths closed & say:
I Can Believe Gods Promises!

ASK kids to close their eyes & bow their heads. Model prayer for kids by PRAYING:

Heavenly Father, thank you for always keeping your promises. Help us to
always believe what you say! We love you. Amen.

practice it while pinky
promising with each
other. Through this
verse we want them to
see they can believe
Gods promises
because He loves
them.
Materials: Memory Verse Cards, Die
1. Say the following:
Were going to learn a verse from the Bible. If you can say this verse by
yourself at the end of this series, you will get a special prize!
This Memory Verse tells us that in everything we do we WIN because Jesus
loves us! Lets learn it now.
2. Teach kids the Memory Verse and motions (on left) by reviewing them several
times.
While reviewing the verse, assemble the Memory Verse Cards in the
middle of the group.

Memory Verse:
In all these things
(spread arms in front)
We will do even more
than win!
(make touchdown
signal with arms)
We owe it all to Jesus,
(point up)
Who has loved us.
(cross arms on chest)
3. Allow kids to take turns rolling a die. When you see the number on the die,
announce it to the group.
4. Kids will get into groups of that number, make a circle, and pinky promise
(link pinkies) with each other as they say the verse together.
5. Keep playing as time allows or until each child has a turn rolling the die.
6. Afterwards, SAY:
Each of you pinky promised with each other during this game. That can
help you remember that we can believe Gods promises because He loves
us and wants us to do even more than win!
So what do we need to know today? I Can Believe Gods Promises!
