The establishment of this institution is based on the vision of a select group of Islamic scholars after completing their education at the Islamic University of Madina. Their vision was to form an institute that calls people towards Tawheed (monotheism), eliminates Shirk (polytheism) and Bida’h (innovation), defending the Sunnah of the Messenger (#2) on every front and serving and aiding the religion of Islam according to the methodology of our pious predecessors. The foundation stone of “A/-Madina Islamic research center” was laid at the end of 2009 in Saudi Arabia. In this regard, a few important meetings were held in Madina Munawwara whereby the aims and purposes of this institute were formulated. Further the academic board, faculties and the central cabinet of the institute were also formed. Hence, after the graduation of the 45th batch of Islamic university of Madina and their return (select group of scholars) to Karachi, this project was — formally inaugurated in October 2010 with the intention to achieve its aims and long term goals. To provide a platform to the returning graduates and scholars of the Islamic University of Madina, whereby they could utilize their individual skills and work and contribute to the various sectors of the society. The people of Karachi thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from the exhibition which received over 20,000 visitors. Posters and panaflexes: this component of the exhibition focused on providing a complete overview of the life of the Prophet (sallalaho alaihi wasallam) in both Makkah and Madina. In this regard, over 75 posters divided into 9 different parts were put ondisplay. Models: this component of the exhibition was a model-based representation of the cities of Makkah and Madina, Masjid-e- Nabawi, the battles of Badar and trench and the conquest of Makkah. Monthly ration program: By the grace of Allah (swt), the depart- ment of welfare affairs undertakes the provision of monthly sustenance to over 500 widows and handicapped individuals in Karachi and interior Sindh. Also in order to keep their dignity intact and not to hurt their sentiments, this ration is delivered to their doorstep on a monthly basis. In'sha‘Allah in the next few months the number of beneficiaries from this program will be doubled. Provisioning of sustenance during the month of Ramadan: The afore mentioned department also caters sustenance for over 2000 poor and destitute families during the month of Ramadan so that they can observe their suhoor and iftar without being dependent on assistance and help from other quarters. o ord [o]o)-\cM NL eB f~ C m — Welfare services provisioned in the drought-hit district of tharparkar: According to Pakistani law, if by the 15” of August each year, a particular area does not receive rain, then it is declared a drought-hit area by the government.
