24. 10 students were selected from a school on the basis of values for giving awards

and were divided into three groups. The first group comprises Hard workers, the

second group has honest and Law abiding students and the third group contains

Vigilant and Obedient students. Double the number of students of the first group

added to the number in the second group gives 13, while the combined strength

of first and second group is four times that of the third group. Using matrix

method, find the number of students in each group. Apart from the values, Hard

work, Honesty and Respect for law, Vigilance and Obedience suggest one more

value, which in your opinion, the school should consider for awards.
25. A tank with rectangular base and rectangular sides, open at the top is to be

constructed so that its depth is 2 m and volume is 8 m . If building of tank

costs Rs 70 per sq. metres for the base and Rs 45 per square metre for sides.

What is the cost of least expensive tank?

29. An aeroplane can carry a maximum of 200 passengers. A profit of Rs 1000 is

made on each executive class ticket and a profit of Rs 600 is made on each

economy class ticket. The airline reserves at least 20 seats for executive class.

However, at least 4 times as many passengers prefer to travel by economy class

than by executive class. Determine how many tickets of each type must be sold

in order to maximize the profit for the airline. What is the maximum profit?
