INTRODUCTION

The key to become an effective student is to learn how to


smarter, not harder. This becomes more and more true as you advance
in you advance in your education. An hour or two is usually sufficient
to make it through an exam in high school with satisfactory grades.

The vast majority of successful students achieve their success


by developing and applying effective study habits. This survey studies
different study habits of high school study both at home will help
children in school and also for the rest of their lives because they will
have mastered how to learn on their own. Not every student learns in
the same way. This psychology test helps us teachers to figure out
what kind of learners are our students which will in turn help us to
tailor study session accordingly.

NEED AND SIGNIFICANCE

Between homework, tests and extra-curricular activities, its all


too easy for things to slip through the cracks. A planner to improve
study habits can help children keep everything well-organized.

Before you improve your study habits, you have to identify your
strengths and weaknesses in your current study habits. This paper

studies the current habits of students which helps them to improve
their study habits.

COLLECTION OF DATA

The study was conducted on a sample of 20 students in the same


class. I was conducted this study on the 9th standard students. The
study was based on study habits at classroom. The instrument was
administered on each of the supervision of their teachers, each
question was read out and explained to the students, students were
made to answer each question as honestly as possible and the
questionnaire was collected immediately scoring was strictly based on
the scoring manual provided by the author. This study examined the
usefulness of imbibing in the students habit as a means of enhancing
their academic performance.

METHODOLOGY

The rating scale deals with study habits at classroom. Five


responses are provided for each statement. There are both positive and
negative statements. The rating scale is different for negative
statement and positive statement. 15 statements are included in the
tool. The negative statements are 7, 19 and 23. Scoring was strictly
based on the scoring manual provided by the author.

In the case of study habit at classroom the total score above 45


the pupil have above study habit and the normal study habit has score
between 30 to 45 and the below study habit has less than 30.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

Analysis and interpretation of data was based on the


information collected from the students

After analysing the response of 20 students it is noted that students


have above study habit, normal study habit and below study habit. But
most of the students possess the normal study habit.

CONCLUSION
Study habits and study skills are very important tool that must be
learned and practiced. Having good study habit is an invaluable asset
in all areas of life, not just in school. Essentially having well
developed study habits will help one to become a more confident,
effective, productive and intelligent person.
