Upon arrival, tho Victim was standing outside the residence and was observed with brood on his hands, neck, chest ‘area and a ripped shirt. The victim, Dennis Blanch, reported that nis son, Kevin Blanch, had attacked him with an axe. Blanch was transported to York Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Blanch was obsetved with a laceration on his left chesUneck area, and lacerations on his left chest and the top of his aft wrist. The viotin tured over a black N43 ‘Tomahawk axe and a stainless MTech MT670 knife to officers, which he said were used in the attack. The vietim told avfcas that his son had ler knives inhi room that he thought he ies to get during the struggle but was unsuccessful. Officers located Kevin Blanch near Stonewood Park at tha intersection of Stonewood Rad and Camberiay Drive. K, Blanch was taken into custody and transported to the station. This detective advised K, Blanch of his Miranda Warnings, wnich he stated that he understocd and chose to waive. K. Bianch advised tat last evening, ne hed made pot pie with his brothers and had an altereation with his mother about taking 100 much pot pie and not leaving encugh for ethers to eat. Blanch said he woke up at approxmately 1300 hours today and his father had asked to speak to him for a minute. K. Blanch reported that he did not entertain his father's ‘equest and walked by him into his bedroom. K. Blanch stated that his father was standing In the hallway, blocking hie path of travel and he asked him to move several mes. K Blanch reported that attr hie father wouldn't move, he went ‘aver to a table in his bedroom and picked up his Tomahawk throwing axa. K. Blanch stated his father told him to "Do i” in a challenging manner. K, Blanch said he took his axe and swung it trying to stike his father in the neck/shoulder area, where the jugular is located, but thinks he stuck him more inthe chest. K. Blanch advised that his father had sabbed the axe and tho two struggled with the axe. K. Blanch reported that he Kept one hand on the axe and used his ‘ther hand to punch his father in the head, trying to get him to release his grip. K. Blanch stated that during the struggle he attempted to get his knife out of its sheath on his bet, but his father rad grabbed the knife before he could getit. tasked K. Blanch what he was going to do wih the knife and he told me that he was golng to end things quickly by sifcing his father's thvaat. | asked K. Blanch what his intentions were by striking his father with the axe in the jugular and he said he wanted to neutralize the threat. | asked K.
