About our competent person retainer service.

To help you, as an employer, you must appoint someone competent to assist you to enable you to
meet the requirements of health & safety law.

A competent person is someone who has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other
qualities that allow them to assist you properly. The level of competence required will depend on the
complexity of the situation and the particular assistance you need.

Our retained health & safety competent person packages are designed to both suit the needs of your
business and provide a level of support to assist you in meeting the requirements of health & safety
law and managing risks in the workplace,

All our consultants are trained to a minimum level of NEBOSH Certificate and have experience and
expertise over a wide range of industry sectors that enable us to act as a competent person for your
business.

Our retained services offer you peace of mind for a fixed fee, (either annual of monthly) allowing you
plan and allocate budget for your health & safety requirements.

We have 4 different types of packages to suit businesses large, medium and small, and enable you to
meet your health & safety obligations. In addition, on request, we can also provide bespoke packages,
allowing you as the client to tailor a package specific to your requirements.

Exclusions and limitations

(1) Our Health & Safety competent persons retainer packages are subject to the number of consultancy
days allocated to the specific package. In the event of a client exceeding the number of allocated days to
their package, additional charges will be applicable based on our standard rates. We will notify our clients
on an individual basis at a point where they are approaching the maximum number of consultancy days to
their package.
Retainer packages are based on our consultants working a maximum of 8 hours per day inclusive of any
travel time and associated administration work. Expense costs are in addition to the cost
of all packages, are invoiced separately and are payable within 7 days of
the date of the invoice.
All contracts are for the duration of the clients chosen package, however our minimum term is a 12 month
period, we require 3 months written notice prior to the expiry of the contract.

In the unlikely event of a default in payment by a client, or the client failing to provide the required 3
months notice, we reserve the right to require the balance of the annual retainer contract to be paid in full.

Option 1 is an annual fee that is payable at the start of the contract, and subsequently on an annual basis for the length of the contract.
Option 2 is a monthly payment plan, this includes our administration charges, the first month is payable on commencement of the contract, subsequent
monthly payments are payable on the first of each calendar month, by standing order for the duration of the contract.
All prices quoted are plus VAT at the current standard rate.
Expenses are based on travel costs charged at 0.45p per mile, and where required accommodation & subsistence at 150.00 per day per consultant.
