RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research focus from 2005 onwards is on bone and mineral disorders. I use my own
original approach to develop primary research questions and future direction for leading the
research. Currently, I am working with many intra and inter departmental multidisciplinary
collaborative teams within AKU. This research has built its authenticity both nationally and
internationally as is evidenced by the awards received. I am hopeful that this research will
bring a strong impact on health outcomes of bone and mineral disorders in Pakistan in time to
come.

Prior to this I have researched in area of inborn errors of metabolism. Currently as I link
service initiatives with research and development in the Section of Chemical Pathology, I
would maintain my initial commitment and hope to expand the horizon of research in this
important area of metabolic medicine.
