Prayer in WP(MD)No.16485 of 2015:

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of
India, Praying this Court to issue a Writ or order or direction in
the nature of Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate order or
direction, directing the respondents to remove the Seemai Karuvelan
trees from the State of Tamil Nadu and take steps to prevent the
growth of the species and take remedial measures to undo the damage
caused by the Said Seemai Karuvelan Trees within the time stipulated
by this Honourable Court and pass such other or further order as
this Hon'ble Court may deem fit.

ORDER: This Writ petition coming on for orders on this day and upon
perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and
upon hearing the arguments of MR.P.SUBBARAJ, Advocate for the
petitioner and MR.M.GOVINDAN, Special Government Pleader for
respondents 1 to 16, and MR.S.M.ANANTHA MURUGAN, R17/Party in
Person, the court made the following order:-

This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the
Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to remove
Seemai Karuvelan trees from the State of Tamil Nadu and take
appropriate steps to prevent its growth in future, by way of issuing
a writ of mandamus.

2.It is seen from the petition that thirteen District

Collectors of southern part of Tamil Nadu have been impleaded as
respondents 4 to 16. Since respondents 4 to 16 have been impleaded,
this Court is of the view to pass the following interim order:

The respondents 4 to 16 are strictly directed to remove Seemai

Karuvelan trees which are in existence within the radius of
respective headquarters-town limit [roads, canals, water bodies,
lay-outs, private properties, etc.] with the assistance of local
bodies within a period of twenty days. The respondents 4 to 16 are
strictly to submit a report with regard to compliance of the order.

3.The Registry is directed to send copies of this order

directly to the respondents 4 to 16 forthwith.

4.Post the writ petition by 10.01.2017.
