MEASUREMENTS
Length of catapult=40 inches
Height of catapult=27 inches
Width of catapult=25 inches

Two 2x4 40 inch pieces of wood

Four 2x4 22 inch pieces of wood
Four 2x4 29 inch pieces of wood (bottom side cut
at an angle of 55 degrees and the top side cut at an
angle of 40, cut opposite ways)
One 2x4 25 inch piece of wood
One piece of plywood 40 by 22 inches
One 2x4 piece of 41 inch wood
Two 2x4 8 inch pieces of wood
ANGLES
Pull down arm to a 90 degree angle before
releasing
Arm should release at a 45 degree angle
Base is 90 degrees
ASSEMBLING THE BASE
1. Assemble the two 40 and two 22 inch pieces of
wood in a rectangle with the 22 inch pieces in
between the 40 inch pieces
2. Make sure the wood is up, not on its side.
3. Screw these pieces of wood together to form a
rectangle
BUILDING THE FRAME
1. Cut out a piece of plywood thats 40 by 22 inches
2. Screw it on top of the base
3. Cut out two 22 inch pieces of 2x4 wood and
stand them up in the middle of each of the longer
sides of the catapult
4. Screw them into the base
5. (before this step, build the arm- see the next
page) Put a piece of 22 inch 2x4 piece of wood going
across the other two on top
6. Put each 29 inch piece of 2x4 wood on each side
7. The should attach on the crossbar and the
bottom of the wood to form a triangle on each side
8. Drill this into the base
BUILDING THE ARM
1. Screw a piece of 22 inch 2x4 wood to the bottom
of the very front of the base
2. Screw one side of the door hinge to the 2 inch
side of the bottom of the arm
3. Screw the other side of the door hinge to the top
of the piece of wood at the front of the base in the
middle
ATTACHING THE BUNGEE CORD AND
FOAM
1) Drill two holes on the top of the crossbar
2) Put in hooks on both sides
3) Put one hook on the bottom of the end of the arm
4) Wrap the bungee cord around the two hooks on
the crossbar
5) Tie a knot at the end bungee cord
6) Attach the bungee cord to the hook on the arm
7) Tape a piece of foam to the side/bottom of the
crossbar so when the arm releases it hits the foam
CREATING THE RELEASE MECHANISM
1) Attach two hooks on the back of the base
2) Pull down the arm to align all three hooks
3) Put the metal rod through all three
4) Pull out the metal rod and the arm will release
*When you are done building the catapult, add extra
screws where it is necessary. This will make the catapult
stronger and less likely to break.

SCREWING ON THE BOWL

1) Drill the bowl onto the end of the arm
