Maria ng mga Apostoles Parish had its very first State
of the Parish Address (SPA) last July 28, 2012. Rev. Fr.
Betbet Rabonza reported to the parishioners the Accom-
plishment of the Parish for the past year. He also com-
mended the initiative, talent and service of all the mem-
bers of the different Parish organizations and ministries.
Here is the summary of the accomplishment of the par-
ish.
1.Worship Ministry (Altar servers, Lectors and Com-
mentators, Music Ministry, Special Ministers of Holy
Communion, Liturgical Arts, Apostleship of Prayer)
Membership increased by 15%. The challenge now is
how to maintain them in the service. They should be
encouraged to attend various formation programs given
by the Parish and the Diocese of Pasig. Different activi-
ties meant to strengthen the spiritual life of everyone in-
side and outside the parish should likewise give them the
opportunity to see and share Jesus with each other
2.Education Ministry (Cathechist and Biblical Aposto-
late)
Increase in number of volunteer catechists who are pro-
vided with continuous spiritual training and profes-
sional training by the Diocese of Pasig. Increase in num-
bers of attendees to the Bibliarasal every Tuesday night.
However, some ministry members, servers and damayan
elders should still be encouraged to attend. Reflecting on
the word of God every week draws us closer to Jesus and
gives us the opportunity to share Jesus with one another.
3.Social Service and Development Ministry
Activities on health awareness program, medical mis-
sion, blood letting, operation tuli, feeding program were
successfully done. These activities manifest our love and
concern for our fellow parishioners especially those who
are in need. SSDM is also responsible for maintaining
the cleanliness of the restrooms, manning the parking
space and preparing breakfast for the servers every Sun-
day.
The activities of SSDM reflect not only the helping hands
of the Parish but also the heart of Jesus which beats for
the people who are in need.
4.Temporalities
We have seen the big difference in the physical structure
of our parish - from the floor to the roof, inside and out-
side of the parish office, clothing of the priest, dresses of
the images of the saints, materials for the mass, sound
systems, monitors, wide screen and many more. This is
because of the help of good people who are willing and
able to share. As gratitude to them we must give impor-
tance and take extra care of everything we have. Such
is the responsibility not only of Temporalities but also of
the whole community.
5.Parish Youth Ministry
Our Youth ministry is very energetic, witty and talented.
They are the life of our parish. Despite many temptations
(peer pressure, gadgets) they chose to serve in the parish.
Fr. Betbet hopes that these young people may dream to
grow with Jesus and feel the essence of serving and care
in the parish here and in their own families.
6.Family and Life Ministry
The FLM takes the lead in organizing outreach programs
and other family-oriented activities like Day of the El-
derly, Ikaw ang Bida Lolo at Lola, Kasalang Barangay
the last of which was sponsored by Madame Kaye Tinga,
Childrens Day, Mothers Day and Fathers Day celebra-
tions. Fr. Bet commended their perseverance in deepen-
ing their spirituality and commitment by attending vari-
ous seminars, symposium and retreat.

7.Parish Pastoral Council
PPC serves as the right hand of Fr. Bet. Because of their
perseverance and hard work many activities were suc-
cessfully held like:
Papal Awarding pro Ecclesia et Pontiface of
Dame Carmencita Esteban which instilled inspiration
and awe to the church servants of our parish
Making of Manual of procedures and programs
called Gabay sa Paglalakbay
Campaign for the cleanliness or MRAPs bi-
annual Operation Linis.

An alive celebration of Feast.
The coronation of the image of Mary Queen of
the Apostles attended by Ms. Balsy Aquino Cruz and
Pinky Aquino Abellada
Campaign to have the image of Mary Queen
of Apostles in every Catholic house in Barangay Pinag-
sama
Relentless campaign for parishioners to wear
white in attending Masses
Yearly pilgrimage to Antipolo
Fr. Betbet also emphasized that serving in the
ministries goes hand and hand with discipline. He
wishes to put a stop to the ministry ko to attitude
and service for convenience.
The report ended with Fr. Betbet quoting
Comedy King Dolphy with his line Hindi ko to ma-
rarating mag-isa!. He emphasized that each and every-
one of us no matter how small the contribution is part
of the success of the Parish. He did not achieve all of
this alone but with the help of all of us with Mary and
his Son Jesus.

Muling hinarana ng Maria Reyna ng mga
Apostoles si Maria noong Ika-6 ng Oktubre 2012. Ang
taunang proyekto ay pinangunahan ng Worship Minis-
try sa pamumuno ni Sis.Linda Encarnacion. Sinimulan
ng nobena ang nasabing aktibidad at saka dumako sa
harana. Dinaluhan ang proyektong ito ng mga server
mula sa Legion of Mary, Childrens Ministry, Knights of
the Altar, Mother Butler Guild, Lector and Commenta-
tors Ministry, Ministry of Ushers and Greeters, Parish
Youth Ministry, at mga parishioner.
Ang harana at pagpupugay para kay Maria ay
inawit ng Regina Apostolorum Choir at Familia Choir
sa gabay ng Music Ministry Coordinator na si Bro.Art
Aguilar. Samantala, si Bro.Jerald Casiguran ng Parish
Youth Ministry and nagsilbing emcee sa gabing iyon.
Nag-alay ng dasal at mga rosas ang mga nag-
sidalo sa nasabing proyekto at matapos nito ay nagbigay
ng panghuling bati si Rev.Fr.Jomar Valdevieso bilang
pasasalamat sa muling pagbibigay pugay sa mahal nat-
ing ina na si Maria, Reyna ng mga Apostoles.
MARIA, AMING INA,
IPANALANGIN MO KAMI

Naging matagumpay ang pagtatapos ng pagdi-
riwang ng buwan ng Banal na Santo Rosaryo. Marami
ang sumama sa prusisyon na sinimulan sa ganap na
ikaapat at kalahati ng hapon noong ika-27 ng Oktubre,
2012. Nanguna sa pagtugtog ang Drum and Lyre ng
ating parokya na nagsilbing hudyat ng simula ng pru-
sisyon. Ang mga imahe at larawan ni Maria ay iniikot
sa mga pangunahing lansangan ng Brgy. Pinagsama.
Pinangunahan naman ng Lectors and Commentators
Ministry ang pagdarasal ng Santo Rosaryo habang
nagpuprusisyon hanggang sa makabalik sa parokya.
Sinundan ito ng pagdiriwang ng Banal na Misa na
pinamunuan nina Rev. Fr. Vicente Uy at Rev. Fr. Jomar
Valdevieso.
Si Maria, bilang ina ni Jesus ay karapat-dapat
lamang na parangalan. Siya ay nagsilbing modelo sa
pagsunod sa kalooban ng Diyos nang kanyang tanggap-
ing dalhin sa kanyang sinapupunan ang anak ng Diyos.
Isa rin siyang huwarang ina na buong pusong nagbigay
ng sarili upang paglingkuran si Jesus na kanyang anak,
Diyos na naging tao. Sa pamamagitan ng pagdarasal
ng Banal na Santo Rosaryo, pamimintuho at pag-aalay
ng bulaklak, nabibigyang- parangal natin siya bilang
ina ng ating tagapagligtas. Nawa, sa bawat dasal na at-
ing bibigkasin, hilingin natin kay Maria na ipanalangin
tayo kay Jesus, dahil tunay na walang anak ang makata-
tanggi sa kanyang ina.

HELP UNITES PINAGSAMA

The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help visited
Maria Reyna ng mga Apostoles Parish last July 27, 2012
to August 2, 2012. The residents of Barangay Pinagsama
got the chance to see, touch, and offer roses and prayers
to the Blessed Mother. Devotees came double during
Sunday where it drew long lines from the side of the
altar to the door of the parish.
Unity, cooperation and devotion to our lady of
Perpetual Help were manifested among the Barangay
Pinagsama residents. We are blessed because of the visit
of the original icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to
our parish.

KABATAANG LINGKOD: IN OR OUT?

Ang mga kabataang lingkod ng simbahan ay
hindi rin nalalayo sa ordinaryong kabataan na makikita
sa ating komunidad. Naglalaro, nakikisalamuha, may
nakakasamaan ng loob, at syempre, nakakagawa rin ng
mga pagkakamali. Tulad ng iba, tao rin at nagkakasala.
Ngunit ang pagiging lingkod ng Diyos ay isang mabi-
gat na tungkulin isang responsibilidad na kailangang
alagaan at pagyamanin. Kapag ikaw ay naglilingkod sa
Diyos, kailangan mong maging huwaran sa iba upang
maipakita mo kung sino ang iyong pinaglilingkuran.
Hindi pwede ang pwede na o basta lang sapagkat la- PYM. Muling bumalik ang sigla sa paglilingkod ng
hat ng iyong gagawin ay sa Kanya mo iaalay.
Kapag ikaw ay nagkamali o nakagawa ng hindi
maganda, natural lamang na mapagalitan, masigawan,
pangaralan, o minsan, kapag mabigat ang iyong nagawa,
ay maaaring masuspinde. Iyan ay ilan lamang sa narana-
san ng mga kabataang lingkod ng parokya. Umabot sa
punto na nasuspinde ang ilan sa mga miyembro ng Par-
ish Youth Ministry (PYM) noong buwan ng Hunyo. Ito
ang pinakamabigat na parusa na maaaring matanggap
ng isang lingkod dahil hindi maaaring makapagserve
hanggat hindi pinahihintulutan. Ngunit hindi ito dahi-
lan upang panghinaan ng loob, tumigil sa paglilingkod,
umalis sa grupong kinabibilangan o sa simbahan. Ito ay
nagsilbing aral para sa lahat na mas maging responsable
sa bawat pagkilos, inspirasyon upang patuloy na lumago
at pagbutihin ang paglilingkod, matutong humingi ng
tawad at magpatawad, at patuloy na magmahal sa Diyos
at sa kapwa. Noong buwan ng Agosto ay tuluyan nang
tinanggal ang pagkakasuspinde ng mga miyembro ng
mga kabataan at patuloy na nagbibigay ng oras at sarili
sa Diyos at sa kapwa. Tunay nga na ang paglilingkod ay
isang bagay na hindi matutumbasan at maipagpapalit sa
kahit na anong bagay, dahil ang iyong puso ay mapu-
puno ng pagmamahal at ang iyong buhay ay pupuspu-
sin at pagpapalain ng Diyos, na siyang magiging dahilan
upang ikaw ay magkaroon ng makabuluhang buhay.
Ang paglilingkod ay hindi dapat iwasan at katakutan,
kundi dapat mahalin at matutunan.

A house husband according to the diction-
ary is a man married to a working wife and stays at
home to manage their household. Nowadays, dad-
dies who play the role of being a mom in the family
are now becoming a trend and most likely accepted
in the whole world.
This emerging trend believed to have start-
ed during the World War II when men were sent
off to war causing scarcity in other man-held jobs.
That was the time women entered the workplace.
Women also felt the need to be financially stable for
their family and they loved and enjoyed the sense
of contributing to the society. As time went by, they
started to hold some of the highest positions like
being a Chief Executive Officer of a company CEO
or a country icon.
Here in the Philippines, the number of
house husbands is increasing. Others may view the
phenomenon as idleness on the part of the man
because they are jobless. However, there is the
other side of the story. From this kind of situation,
some families work out their relationships well. Be-
ing a house husband doesnt make the husband less
of a man because he still contributes to the upkeep
of the family. Taking on the household chores and
care of the children is not an easy task. Its high
time that we do away with gender roles which cul-
ture has dictated in our society. Where women do
good, men can also do good or even better. I bet
you, a house husband providng Fathers Care for
the family, will be the best job ever.

YEAR OF FAITH

My Dear Parishioners,

Pope Benedict XVI, in his Apostolic Letter Porta Fidei, announced a Year of
Faith that will begin on October 11, 2012 and conclude on November 24, 2013, the
Solemnity of Christ the King. The whole Church is invited to celebrate the precious
gift of faith, to receive it again and to transmit it joyfully. Our beloved parish is
one with the Church worldwide in welcoming the Year of Faith.

The Rationale for the Year of Faith

The date of the opening of the Year of Faith was chosen carefully. It also partly
explains the Popes intentions. October 11, 2012 marks the fiftieth anniversary of
the opening of the Second Vatican Council (1962) and the twentieth anniversary of
the promulgation of the catechism of the Catholic Church (1992). The significance of
these two events determines considerably the spirit of the Year of Faith.

The Dynamics of Faith and the Year of Faith

As we immerse ourselves in the faith of the Church and its mission in our
world in this Year of Faith, we are called to engage in an integral development in
faith with the following components:

a. A deeper understanding of what we believe in through an intensified Biblical

apostolate program, review of documents of Vatican II and teachings emanating
from it like the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines and the Second Plenary
Council of Manila and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
b. A renewed appreciation and celebration of the mystery of the faith in sacra-
ment, liturgy and prayer.

We believe that as Christians we are urged on by the love of Christ to help

construct a world of truth, justice, harmony and peace. The Year of Faith also
opens for the Church in the Philippines a nine-year preparation for the commemo-
ration of the 500th anniversary of the arrival of the Christian Faith on our shores.
With Mary as our model and guide, let us welcome the Year of Faith in our beloved
parish and trust that it would bear much fruit for the Church and for humanity.
