Academy of Excellence Volunteer classroom parent Fall 2009 - Spring 2010
Assisted Kindergarten teacher with general classroom activities. Led small group activities and chaperoned on
various field trips.
Gateway Community College Special projects: Fall 2013 - Spring 2014
For two semester I acted as a teachers aide in a college developmental reading class as a participant in a special
projects class designed for education majors. I lectured small groups while completing 102 hours of volunteer
tutoring. I assisted the instructor will all grading duties. As part of the project I was required to create lesson
plans and a philosophy of education. Part of the duties included Student outreach and retention.
Gateway Community College - S.T.A.R. Fall 2012 Spring 2013
I facilitated a supplemental instruction of two one hour classes per week for students in a developmental math
course. This instruction was offered to help them understand materials taught in lecture or homework. Through
the S.T.A.R. program I also acted as a tutor for one on one instruction and basic advising.
Arizona State University Student Teaching Assignment Central High School Spring 2017
Student teaching 2 senior English classes and 1 freshman English class. Responsible for planning, instruction,
and record keeping for all classes with support from my mentor. This includes daily roll taking, grading, and
setting up the grade book in Synergy.

Internship Fall 2015 Phoenix Elementary School District Magnet Traditional School
One to two days a week I assisted the teacher with lessons, created and taught a lesson on main idea and
inferred meaning for seventh and eighth grade students. Worked with small groups on remediation in
reading and daily lessons. Covered for the instructional aid while he was on lunch.
Internship Spring 2016 Phoenix Union High School District Maryvale High School
One or two days per week I assisted the teacher with that days lessons, worked with students in small groups
on research and essay writing. After spring break I developed and taught a 5-day poetry unit that was
taught 1 day a week over 5 weeks. These lessons used free writing to cover voice, tone, theme, style,
image. I also developed quizzes for the Seminar class after chaperoning students during a Hamlet play.
Internship Fall 2016 Scottsdale Unified School District Chaparral High School
Several days a week I participated in instructional activities with students in both freshman English Language
Arts classroom and sophomore Honors II English Language Arts classes. Working with my Intern Mentor
0Teacher I designed literacy lesson plans for the 3 ironys in Edgar Allen Poes short stories.

Miscellaneous Experience
20 plus years of call center and customer service experience educating customers in various information formats
from their medical insurance coverage to the ways in which the customer could book a flight using their
mileage points. Proficient in Synergy grade book and attendance.
