What is PPDCI?

The Philippine Palmoil Development


Council, Inc. or PPDCI is the
organization of all Palm Oil
Stakeholders in the country. It was
organized in year 2000 by
representatives from the Oil Palm
Growers in Central Mindanao, Palm
Oil Millers, PCA, DTI, BOI, DA, DENR,
USM and some LGUs.
VISION

The PPDCI is committed to the Palm Oil


Development as a Strategic Option that
would create a social and economic
environment that facilitate upliftment of
the standard of living of the people and
institution to attain sustainable peace in
the country.
MISSION
Coordinate all efforts for the development
of Palm Oil as a Primary Industry in the
Philippines by undertaking necessary
activities creating opportunities in
enhancing industry growth in the Southern
Region and the country as a whole
recognizing the vital aspects of the interest
of small farmers, judicious preservation of
the remaining natural resources, and
conservation and improvement of the
biodiversity of project areas.

1. To promote oil palm expansion to overcome the


domestic vegetable oil shortage.
2. To promote oil palm agro-reforestation of idle and
under-utilized uplands.
3. To promote oil palm among small landholders for
higher income above poverty threshold level.
4. To promote environmental rejuvenation, increase
agricultural productivity and sustainability to mitigate
climate change and ensure fertile lands for posterity.

9th National Palmoil Congress
August 19-20, 2015; General Santos City

This congress is a venue wherein national


government, LGU planners, decision makers, and
agricultural personnel were provided with information
on the development initiatives and breakthroughs,
advanced technologies, investment opportunities,
banking support, etc. Success stories on how some
LGUs were using oil palm as a tool in overcoming
poverty and promoting prosperous communities were
shared. There were also exhibits of emerging
technologies in oil palm.

Signing of MOU between PCA and Palawan Provincial Government for a


partnership for the development of the coconut and oil palm industry in the
province.

Regional Consultations on Roadmap Updating
and Strategic Planning for the Development
of the Oil Palm Industry

PCA collaborated with other national government agencies,


the LGUs and the industry (PPDCI) to develop an Oil Palm
Roadmap aimed at developing about 350,000 hectares for oil
palm production in 10-year period in order to reduce our
import.

A series of regional consultations were conducted in three


clusters involving stakeholders which are currently growing oil
palm and those which have the greatest potential of growing
the crop. 28

In the national level, we are very glad for
the proposed conversion of some 8
million hectares of idle, denuded and
unproductive lands across the country
into oil palm plantations.

Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is now


committed to build and develop a strong
oil palm industry and establish a viable
product via profitable venture.

A leading Malaysian agribusiness firm
entered into an agreement with a
Misamis Oriental-based agricultural
company to distribute one billion high
quality oil palm seeds to farmers in
Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental. (FELDA)

Hybridization Program of PCA with the

Future Activities

The Council shall carry out more
